Cliché story tropes
We all know those overused tropes in stories. Love them or hate them, there is usually at least one we secretly can´t resist 😁 Sooo as the week draws to the end, my question to you all is:
What is your favourite cliché story trope?
@tinywhisper11 @CommunityModLou @schrodingerscattt @flatenedbylife @Heathermarie95 @Kristynsmama @LoveMyMoonflowers @Sunisshiningandsoareyou @WeEarth @Mya000 @Georginahowe @kylersartpace
@sadcat13 cliche or story trope🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 what's does cliche and story trope mean???
@Tinywhisper11 it is a theme or a pattern that keeps being overused in stories so much it becomes predictable and often unoriginal. Patterns like saving someone in the last moment, enemies to lovers relationship progression, the city girl going back to her small hometown for holiday and meeting her highschool sweetheart then deciding to stay because she falls in love again, etc.
@sadcat13 oh ok ❤ ummm🤔🤔🤔🤔 you will get visited by 3 ghosts 👻👻👻
@Tinywhisper11 what will they show me? 😁
@sadcat13
"Cant stand youuu"~ Enemies turned "I wanna spend the rest of my life with youuu"~lovers lol! Cliche at its peak!👀🥰
How about youu?
@Sunisshiningandsoareyou a true classic 😁 I would say almost fairytale like happy ends and everything getting resolved. As much as unpredictable stories are cool. A happy end is a happy end 😆
@sadcat13
Omgee yesss, love this one too!❤
i love a good old Enemies to Lovers or a Best Friends to lovers!
there is sm just so appealing to these clichés idk lol
Yasss same!
@Musicoholic003 It is making us feel comfortable if we know how the story will eventually develop. Also, I love best friends to lovers a lot!
@sadcat13 I love it when weak character works very hard, so they become overpowered and then world is almost ending but they save it with their lover.
@lamimoon truly a beloved trope of hard work paying off 😊
@sadcat13 Yes, I'm very glad you relate to it.
@sadcat13
Enemies to lovers and opposites attract-- if they are written well. I am also very fond of the found family trope, for example tight-knit friend groups, schools with factions, alliances, clans. Story tropes that are written well sometimes don't even feel like tropes.
