I'm not sure if this quite counts as a literary quote, because it comes from the script of a TV series. But someone wrote it.
"Fear is the destroyer" from Star Trek Picard.
It was in response to a person struggling to cope with the fact that they had been labeled as "the destroyer". And it was a reminder that we are not the problem. But the actions we take as a result of fear. And the more we do to recognise our fears, the more we can challenge them and avoid mistakes.
It was good to be reminded that we are not inherently bad but can change if we chose.
