To me Love means.......[share what it means to you]
If you can be near me during one of my mental breakdowns and stay with me, that level of loyalty and understanding is love to me. Especially if you can joke about it with me in the future.
@Karmalot
Right on! That's the best kind.
Trust holds it all together. Also commitment.
Appreciating the highs, and sticking around for the lows.
Just listen , care and showing sympathy
Right now,it means caring about me, but only until you get sick of it and I do something bad enough to deserve getting thrown away.
@sep780 Apologies if I'm wrong, but you sound very young (< 20 yo). Teens and young adults are very often immature (duh), and so their way of loving is often also immature. True love forgives, and true love accepts a person's flaws and mistakes. That includes self-love, btw; you have to learn to forgive yourself, first of all. But you will find someone who truly loves you, and that includes accepting and even appreciating your flaws (or what you think may be flaws). Those people exist, trust me. They're just rare at your (presumed) age.
Again, apologies if I've made any incorrect assumptions. Hope you feel better soon.
Love is when you trust someone else with every inch of your being.
I wrote a long post and then I accidentally deleted it :[
So I'll just summarize: Love is the dissolution of barriers between Subject and Object. It's when the other person becomes a part of your identity, when their well-being becomes integral to your own. Seeing them happy doesn't just MAKE you happy, it IS your happiness. The two are one and the same. It's not a mere emotion, because emotions are fleeting and mutable. But it's a state of being in the world, present more or less at all times, even if it's not particularly salient at certain moments.
This is somewhat of an ideal, of course, and there are degrees to it. Gradations of love. Empathy toward strangers, for instance, is a relatively minor and temporary breakdown of the barrier between Self and Other. The more the Lover becomes identified with the Beloved, though, the more the walls come down. The more you feel like you and your beloved are one and the same. This goes for romantic, familial, platonic relationships.
Ok that was a long summary lol.
Love to me is watching elderly people walk hand in hand,still tell each other they love one another even though they're having to repeat them selfs 800 times and yelling at the other . I think that's the cutest most realistic love
Authentic love of God, that loves us with our weaknesses our mistakes and our imperfection. And never judges us, instead, He encourages us and supports us. Also, love to me is giving unconditionally.
Caring without thinking people owe you for it.
