Communication is so important in every relationship. If you feel comfortable enough with a person to communicate your feelings to them and be honest with them as well as yourself, then I think that's a strong friendship. It can help set boundaries, fix things when you may have said something hurtful or been offended, and allow you to show your true self. Which is what I'd like in a friend anyway, someone I can open up to and be myself with! And for them to feel as comfortable around me.
