I only believe in sex until after you're married. Then it's important. Maybe a7 out of 10. You also shouldn't base your marriage only on sex though too.

@AveryLove Well for me, its not so much important as other things, however, when I want it, i seem to be at my best. Physical touch was the least of my love languange whereas my gf, Physical touch ranked 2nd. She is the "I need it" often type & I'm the "every so often" type. I think its important to find a good middle ground & be open about sex with your partner. Till this day, finding a middle ground can be a task, but at the end of the day, im all for supporting her needs, even thought she may want it at a time when I know I wont be fully into it.

@AveryLove I think sex is vital in a realtionship. It's way to connect deeper with your spouse and feel like you both are "one." That may sound cheesy but to me, that connection is the most important thing!

I read an article on different types of intimacy in a romantic relationship today. The article defined 4: physical (doesn't have to be just sex), emotional, spiritual (not necessarily religious), and mental. I think all four are crucial and interdependent in a strong romantic relationship. I had a good sex life with my ex husband and we had a lot of shared interests/values (mental intimacy), but I was missing emotional and spiritual intimacy with him due to his toxic communication style. In time, my interest in physical and mental intimacy dried up too.

I'm currently seeing someone and intially felt a very strong emotional/mental connection, but not so much a physical one. As we got to know each other better, the physical connection grew stronger. I see good potential for spiritual intimacy as well.

For me, it depends on the person. Idk it's weird.

On average, if I am 80% emotional full at least 60% time with that person than the physical needed for it is whatever.

@AveryLove Definetely not a nessity, but intimacy is very important in a relationship. It can be either emotional or intimate. Every relationship is different, so it can work with either or both.

@AveryLove

i guess it is an important part because it means that the people involved in a relationship are now intimate on every level, however safety is more important than the act itself.

according to Maslows Hierarchy Of Needs-

the three basic human needs are food,sleep and sex

so i guess we cant really escape it can we ? xd

Close to none. Sex just doesn't seem nearly as important to me as talking, discussing thoughts, sharing ideas.

I think the sex is one of many important bases building the legal relationship (mariage). really it's not in the head of the list, but no relationship can be succeed without a right sex too based on love and equality.
