@Jenna I can relate to this so much. I have a hard time making friends and building trust with people to begin with and it makes it even harder to let go but I agree it's just another part of life and we keep on moving. heart

@Jenna One thing I want to add is that while it is important to let go of the people that do not serve our lives and ourselves well, the flip side to this is making connections and building solid relationships with people we want to keep in our lives.

As an older person, it has been difficult for me to build relationships with people I want to keep in my life for my whole life. These long term, life long relationships are very important too. It is what marriage and family are built on. The next step in letting go is not letting in the toxic relationships to begin with. We have to set very clear boundaries as to the quality of person we let into our lives. What are their temprements, life styles, etc. and do they make us healthy or hurt?

Thank you for this article. I agree, going through the pain of letting go is important and you are right, it must be faced to get through to the other side.
