What does true love feel like to you?
Something people convince themselves they're achieving but really it's close to impossible. You're just not going to have that level of perfection when humans are involved.

That's a shame. I would say I've experienced strong love and it's definitely not perfect, but it's simply unconditional love for someone! I hope you get to feel that one day. ♥

I don't think love has anything to do with perfection. I think it's taking the imperfections and loving them none the less. That's what true love is. Loving and being loved with flaws.

When you can be yourself. Literally yourself, not worrying about anything, even if it can feel embarassing.

@Keep9Smiling for sure, I just wrote something about being accepted for who you are without any judgment. Acceptance is definitely a component of true love.
One which makes you feel -- "I am not just a me...I am also a we".
To me, all love has ever done is hurt me and make me feel like nothing. But, if i try to imagine a time in the future where love may be achievable for me again, it is where i can be me. Not "me" hiding behind a smile or makeup, just plain me. It's where i can look into someone's eyes and think how i can't live without them and know they're thinking the same.
@ciaaraaa695 Your time will come! I know it's easier said than done but don't give up. You deserve to be able to be with someone that you can just be yourself and not hide behind anything and feel accepted and loved for who you are and not judged or asked to change. Someone will come along that will make you feel like you are everything you should be and it will feel amazing. I don't think love is thinking "I can't live without you" because you want to be able to survive on your own, but more of a "I can live without you, but why would I want to?" In my eyes, you want to be with someone that makes you feel good about yourself and that makes your life better - someone that adds to you and your life in a positive way and never settle for anything less. I think that a lot of times we say something is love when it isn't. If you are saying that love has caused you so much hurt in the past, then maybe it wasn't the kind of love you need and deserve - love should feel good and make you happy, it should not hurt. I hope you find it one day. xox

@astray sorry to see that you are feeling down, it sounds like you have given up on love. I know it's easier said than done, but don't give up. The right one is out there, I think that there are too many people in this world for there not to be someone out there that is right for you, that makes you happy, that respects you, that accepts you for who you are. Chances are the last relationship that hurt you, wasn't the right kind of love you deserve or need to be happy. Don't give up on finding the kind of love that does. Great question. I always thought true love only happens with your soul mate. Or if put it this way, what you feel is true love when you're with your soul mate.

To me, true love feels like a wave of happiness for simply being who you are. It's one of the products we can get from being our amazing selves and letting it be natural, simple and free. True love isn't a missing piece, but rather a bonus for just being alive, well and wonderful. It's not perfect because none of us are, nor is life, but it makes us well. And being well is more important than anything else.
Everything I love can be described in terms of food haha :-D so true love to me feels like having waffles with honey and vanilla ice cream <3
