Wanting him to be with me all the time
Hi, I have a problem.
I have been with my boyfriend for 8 months now. He has lots of activities (he plays football) and he has so many friends, that is sometimes hard do see often. For me, I want to see him as often as possible and when I hear that he is planning on going somewhere with his friends, I get angry and sad. How do I stop this? We see each other like 3 times a week and for me it is still too little, he is okay with like two times a week or once a week. It is very hard for me to not get jealous and I kinda want him to be only with me, even I know it is unhealthy.
Second thing is, that we are planning to go down the river in boats with his friends. I dont know most of them (they are not that close, so they see only in summer) and my boyfriend wants to be in a boat with his boys and not me. I cant understand why? I will be lost with some people I dont know, he wants me to go with him but then he will leave me in a boat with sb else. I am very confused. Please help.
@Alphi
I think it is normal in a new relationship to want to be with someone all the time .... try thinking longer term that is not realistic.....
maybe if you try to see it from another angle imagine it was your friends and you invited him along ...
would you want him to make friends in the group ?
would you not hang with your girls and instead be just with him ? social circles are important to some more then others and he most likely wants you to fit in
you BOTH are still individuals first not joined at hip...... many relationships develop issues when you give up any other outside friends or social aspects ....... if you rely only on each other then if things go bad you lost everything.
I have felt the same way. My partner and i have been dating for 2 years and my obsession over having him has hurt him so deeply. I havent found the answer or the solution to this yet, but i just know that i wished i had done something sooner. He was so hurt and it was right under my nose, but i didnt notice. Just know you are not alone in feeling this way.
