I wish I had a friend group to call my own

I always see all these people out there having fun times and making memories but if I try to reconnect with people or approach new ones...it's...they have their own lives now, ya know? You can't create bonds like that outside of a very close everyday setting like school or just living close.

But I still debate if I should give it another shot, even though I said I gave up on trying to get friends because of how predictably not committing they are. They have usually not kept their word and didn't include me in things because I was too boring, too serious, not flexible because my parents still very much control me, etc.

Idk.

@Phthalo

Yeah I know what you mean. On one hand, you feel like you are avoiding a lot of let downs but at the same time, friendships are nice and you want to experience it. It can definitely be hard to make friends if you do not do something like school or maybe a job... have you considered getting involved in something like volunteering?
