A memory that sticks out for me is of when I was in high school:

Thursdays - especially when I was a Junior (3rd year, aka 11th grade). There were about five of us who decided that Thursdays were too boring and they were not yet Friday and .... well, we just didn't like Thursdays much. So we declared them to be "Anne days," in honor of the character Anne Shirley in the novel book series Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery (which I highly recommend btw). We celebrated Anne Day by making posters for our lockers, by dressing up like Anne would upon going to tea, and sometimes by gifting each other with special teas (in form of a tea bag to take home and taste test) or other small trinkets. It was a good time - and it "shirley" made Thursdays better! Platy

I met my best friend C in Chicago at work. She lives in the same neighborhood as me but was originally from Jamaica. She worked in a department across the hall from my department.

My favorite memories of time spent with her mean much more to me now because she was diagnosed with cancer and the prognosis is not very good. We used to go eat out at various restaurants after work, and even get together on some weekends and go to the West Rogers Park / Devon neighborhood to get Indian food because we love it! 😋
