Never been in a relationship before

Hey…just wondering if anyone else has never been in a relationship before? You know, not single by choice but single bcs of no choice :)

I never been asked out, flirted with, no any kind of romantic interactions from a guy. It sucks when everyone around me get in and out of relationships, some are married, engaged, or at least in the talking stage with someone and you have no romance in life to update. The feeling of unloved, wondering what is wrong with me? Am I ugly? Is my personality bad? Shall I blame it on the star or the fate? I honestly don’t know. And what’s worse? I want to be in a relationship, but it’s just not for me. And please don’t say “it will come when you least expect or not looking for it” or “ love yourself first” or any of those toxic positivity anymore, so tired of it.

I am really upset with my fate, or am I destined to be alone?

It’s hard to do that when I’ve been single for my entire life. But yes, there’s nth else to focus beside my career and family.

I did but not in a flirty way, but the one I liked always like someone else, and there no one ever approaches me in that way.

@Fluffycloudd The simple matter is that not all men are flirts and I don't know what. Rather, the matter is simply that a man is looking for a girl who looks like him. If you are silent all the time and do not talk to anyone, everyone will ignore you.

I’m not a shy and reserved person, if I like someone, I will approach them. But they never shows any interest in that way besides being a friend, so yes, i step back.

I get it. You need to kinda use all the methods - speed dating, colleagues and friends setting you up, online dating, social mixup, and meetups. Basically, increase your visibility by being more social.

I will try to put it softly. Movies and other shows romanticise this one guy coming upto us and loving us forever. It is best to remove that scenario from our head. It hasn't happened with me either.

What we want is a grounded, mature, long lasting love and not butterflies inducing love. It doesn't matter if someone approaches you. You date people and maybe you like someone.

There is nothing wrong with you or there is nothing wrong happening with you. You are a happy, independent, and busy individual who wants a partner.

@Fluffycloudd

i totally understand how you feel :( and honestly i still do sometimes. ive i spent a lot of time feeling like you.. seeing friends with someone and wondering if something's wrong with me. i was never approached or flirted with, and yeah, i questioned my personality, my looks, even the way i smile. but it's not you, trust me.

right now, im the only single girl among most of the ppl i know. it feels weird sometimes, and ive even stepped back from socials cuz of it. but that doesn't mean something's wrong with me, does it? ive been single by choice, ive been single not by choice. you're not alone, and it's not fate or destiny keeping you single.

i get love and relationships are a big part of life, but don't measure your worth by what others think or whether someone approaches you. ppl can pick up on how you feel about yourself and it shows.

so no. you're not broken, unloved, or destined to be alone. feeling upset about this is okay, but it doesn't define who you are or your future. everything's gonna be okay <3 all of us here are for you.

@Fluffycloudd

Hello there! I just set up an account, because I've seen your post and wanted to share my thoughts on it.

I'm in my mid 30ties and never been in a relationship either and it's really eating me inside out. Also, never been intimate with anyone, so that's the cherry on top. It bothers me greatly, its the reason why I cant sleep, the cause of me feeling down most of the time. I did some theraphy, but never ressolved this issue. Sure, I have many hobbies, things to focus on, more to keep myself busy and mind occupied, then for the sheer enjoyment of it, but yeah, sharing a life with special someone is something else entirely. I wish so much I could simply change it, but cannot force a person to wanting me, loving me or spending time with me. All of those elements, make me feel very lonely and honestly, I've lost hope for love. That's it, my life - work, exercising, being in pain, hobbies. Dating? Hardly ever. Sex? Actually never. Love? Barely.

So yeah, I guess you're not alone in this 😁Some folks are even more messed up (pointing at myself). 👋

And all the "be positive, find a peace in your lonelines, try to love yourself more, meditate, engage in LGBT community activities, take initiative etc" don't really help, do they?

Ehh

Sorry. It's just curiosity. Why aren't you dating? Don't you think meeting people you might find someone you like?

I have never been in a relationship, approached, or ever experienced a flirt from a guy, and loved other guys and they didn't share the same feeling. I know how it may cause self-doubt about whether I'm enough as a partner or I'm missing a kind of feature to be qualified. As a result, my experience in relationships is poor so I can't imagine what I really want or care about in this, but yes, it's a kind of "why I'm not chosen?" As I'm religious, I answer myself that God has a plan, and I built a good self-esteem so I know it's not because of me. But I would like to tell you is that having a partner is about being compatible. It doesn't mean you miss some characteristics or have unsuitable personality, it is about having the person who will love you as you are and be able to deal with your flaws, this applies to you, too. Although this doesn't deny that unexperiencing relationship is hard, but I see that a partner is a kind of mystery, our other half that we learn about with time. I know some people never be in a relationship in their life, but I think focusing on managing the need and the desire will at least keep us happy and stable you know. Like for me, I write love stories and make sure I'm loved enough by myself. Sometimes we think about having a relationship because we want to be loved in general. If we are loved and just want the relationship, a sublimation technique is helpful until it happens.

I hope this helps, and I hope you experience the relationship you wished for.
