I feel so guilty about this

I’ve been told that what happened isn’t my fault..I’ve only spoken about it anonymously on Reddit because I’m too scared to tell anyone…I met this guy. I’m 15. We met on an app for teens. I met a lot of teens there, but he was 22. I was only aware after we got together. Let’s just say things happened. Pictures were sent. He seems to get mad at me easily. He knows I’m 15. That’s like one of the first things I told him. I feel so guilty about what I sent because let’s just say that they were sfw. I want to block him—to end things but I’m scared of what he could do..I need some advice anyone please..

Hey @SparkleSwapnil, thanks for offering support. <3

Hiya @passionateBunny7061, you're unable to message them as teen members can only personally message other teen listeners or adult-teen listeners (an admin approved role for adults, to ensure safety on the teen side). I hope you can find some support from the ATLs and teen side. Y'all can definitely talk in the forums, if comfortable! ❤

Hey bunny, that is a tough situation in hand. It isn't easy to talk about it without being anonymous, I understand why you haven't done so . While doing so in real life might bring in more helps , not taking up that option yet DOESN'T make you a coward. Had I been in your shoes, I would have felt the same. And reaching out for assistance whether anonymously or not , is a feat in itself! I am proud of you that you shared your problem here !!! From what you shared, you don't need to feel guilty or ashamed of this situation. But it's hard not to blame yourself for what happened, I get that. There's a lot of "what if I hadn'ts-" that rushes into our mind to haunt us down.

Your are welcome to talk to me , however I dont have enough expertise to solve your problem. I can stand by you while you get through this. Addressing your issues to listners here (more experienced one preferably because they are more qualified based on their support here) might help you feel more manageable. You can browse for you suitable listner here:

Also this is just a suggestion. You are an expert on your own life. You are in control.

I'm afraid I may not be the best at advice but I want to try and help as I was in a similar position when I was 12/13(we meet on twitter I am now going on to 21 so I have matured a rather lot so I hope my advice and my silly mistakes and how I overcame them will make you feel better) I was extremely embarrassed and I had no idea who to talk to for help and what I should do.

I thought he was great we had been talking for months I had told him just about everything about me I felt alone at this time, my mother had cancer everyone was busy I had no friends as I was homeschooled to finding a friend sounded great to me. (and like any other early teen or anyone for for matter who hadn't wanted to talk to a boy/girl that we have an interest in?)

Anyway I tried the whole distancing thing and he just wouldn't stop and I was a little scared out of my mind I didn't want to talk to my sisters as they are both 10 and 14 years older than me but eventually (rather dramatically mind you) I woke my sister up in the middle of the night and confessed to everything that happened and how I was so worried that they would yell at me etc.

But she just calmly took my phone and blocked him (I never wanted to do that as I was scared at the time) and said who cares what he has he's a creep ignore wierdos like that, and we never spoke of it again I hope you may be able to go to an adult who can help you in a similar way you may be embarrassed but trust me they make things seem so much clearer and it will bring you guys closer together and build more trust (you may receive a lecture I did and its embarrassing but far better than dealing with a creep)

This grown man is trying to groom you he KNEW that he was on a teen site and he did it because he wanted to manipulate a teenager into doing his creepy biding. Don't feel embarrassed about sending those pics either it's normal (we all have sent some pics and messages we would love to take back) teens and adults alike do this and sometimes it ends badly but hey we live and learn okay?

You trusted him which is okay he played the part and you couldn't have known but don't be scared okay? your family and even your teachers are there to help. He took advantage of you and the best way to move on is getting help from those around you (even if your parents or family appear angry or they yell or whatever the only reason they do this is because they are scared of what could happen to you they aren't really angry at you just the situation)

Keep safe and always keep in mind that people make mistakes and that is okay you are not at fault for this(also I think I may know what you mean about the pics are you afraid he will leak them? Please report this to the police as you are underage and that is very illegal but also if he does who cares? Everyone's pics are floating out there somewhere and if people make you feel bad for it then they aren't worth your time❤)

I'm sorry if I drooned on a little or went in circles or the late reply in general but I hope this helps just a little bit.

@passionateBunny7061 I'm so sorry to hear about this! Unfortunately, there are some people who will just try to take advantage of others, particularly younger people, and it's not your fault if you were unlucky enough to meet one of them. Your own wellbeing comes first: if you feel unsafe and uncomfortable, it's your right to block him. You might be scared of what he'll do, but if you stick around things might even go more unsafe than they are now. It's better to just take care of yourself and cut him out. And if you're worried about what he might do with the pictures, well, people who act like him usually go after a lot of people on the internet: if you block him, he'll probably just go and find someone else to harass. In any case, remember that sharing someone's pictures without their consent is legally prosecutable, so there are tools for you to protect yourself.
