Is it too late?
I feel like such a mess over what's been happening the past week. My boyfriend has decided he is unsure of our relationship and it's been messing with my head. Until now, I've just realized that this may be all my fault. He said he doesnt blame me but he needs to think things through and that I should be patient, which is killing me.
My behavior has been so toxic for him. I've been a clingy person and I always got mad whenever he took a long time to respond to a text. My sex drive is high and I would get upset when we went a week or more without it and always went straight to blaming him for not liking my body or seeing someone else. I have a bad temper and I always got upset easily and shut myself out by ignoring him until the next day.
His patience and affection was always there through all of this. I always appreciated it but I never thought of myself as a toxic person until I realized how bad my behavior has been. Last week he sprung this decision on me and it's been so painful watching us drift apart and barely talking anymore.
I do love him and I've always seen a future with him. Now I'm just hoping he will talk to me about what made him have this uncertainty and give me a chance to fix it. I'm so scared he will decide to break up and not tell me why. I told him I would like a chance to work this out once we've talked and he responded with "we'll see". Am I already too late to get a second chance? How can I convince him to stay before it's too late?
@Shykitty Hey Kitty, I posted my thoughts on your similar post. Please check that and let me know if it is helpful or if you have any further things to discuss. We are here with ya.
@Shykitty
Cudos to you for recognizing some of your own faults... that can be hard to admit or even realize. But make sure youre not being too hard on yourself. You can't blame EVERYTHING on your behavior. I'm sure hes been going through something as well.
If anything, just make sure he is being honest to you with why he wants to break up, even if it might hurt your feelings. Seems like thats something you truly care about (self improvement).
If he wants to break up, (and this is hard to hear) there might not be anything you can do about it. It wouldn't be fair to you or him to continue being in a relationship if one person is not completely in it for good reasons (him feeling guilty about breaking up with you and hurting your feelings for example).
If you are truly meant to be he will come back to you, or you will find your way to him in the future if you do break up. It will be hard, but this can be seen as a learning experience, and time for you to grow individually which is so important. I
know its hard, I've had my fair share of heartbreak, but if the love is true, you will come back together. I can speak from personal experience.
Wishing you the best
