What would you say to a former friend?
We all have ex-friends, whether people we've simply drifted apart from or those we've had a real falling out with. What would you like to tell that friend?
@Anomalia
I too have lost a friend , one because of someone , but we're back now , not as besties but as friends. Another friend of mine was lost when she wrongly accused me of sexting her , when I never ever did . LOL , she brought me into real trouble . Another essence of friendship , the most affected and the most near to me was of the guy I loved . It was 3 yrs ago , when I lost him as a friend when I confessed my feelings for him . He thanked me and that was the last day we talked as friends. Then after , ne never bothered to look back at me . Its painful . I have nothing to say or hold grudges for the former two , but for this guy , if I ever meet him again , and manage to gather courage , I would just like to say " I neither do nor will I ever come across your love life. You've been my inspiration . Its from You that I've learned to be loyal toward the person you love . Its from you that I've started loving literature. I cannot force my love on you because Love is just another word for freedom. I know I had some place in your heart as a friend ,I do love you but I wish to be in that place . Just allow me to be there . Never ever will I cross the boundaries of friendship, just GIVE ME BACK MY FRIEND."
I would also like to apologize publically to a listener over here for my words I said in defence of the members. I know I did hurt you but tbh I never intended to . I'm still trying to get back my friend and hopefully I wish I will .
Another lovely message for you @Anomalia:
Thanks for this wonderful this wonderful thread that helped me share my thoughts for the broken relationships.
@Anomalia
I would say that no matter what caused us to stop being friends I still cherish the good times and memories and I am thankful for that.
@Anomalia I feel that all the people in my life whom I've taken issue with in the past, whether that manifested as me being inspired to hold a grudge against them or simply fall out of touch with them, I was inspired to do so because I took a choice that they made personally. I have an understanding now that the choices of others, even when they're seemingly made to hinder or cause pain in our lives, are not to be taken personally, as I don't feel that anyone personally wants to cause us harm, specifically. I feel that people only know how to do what their level of wisdom makes sense out of doing, and for most people, that includes lashing out at others, or becoming impatiant with others, or making fun of others who fall short of doing something to a certain standard set by most people. I feel that people only make these choices because they've learned throughout their lives that they are the wisest choices to make in their corresponding situations, and if they were simply taught something more founded in what is true about life, they would be given the perfect opportunity to recognize the lack of love in the choices they make, and choose differently. That is why I feel it falls upon the other person - the receiver of the unloving words or actions - to put forth the effort not to take what others say or do personally, but to show unconditional love to others at all times and in all situations. People are not obligated to be grateful for or happy about the loving things that we do. People are not obligated to seek us out when they wish to include more love or happiness in their lives. When people do such things, I feel that we ought to demonstrate a more divine way of living our lives by being grateful for the gift of another person's inclusion of our presence or insight in their lives, and offer it to them without hesitaiton and without asking for anything in return. When we come across in a way in which we expect something in return for our kindness or our friendship, such as them reacting in a certain way or before a certain amount of time has passed, we encourage others to inevitably exclude us from their lives as unloving and intrusive presences. Rather, by showing love unconditionally regardless of the behavior of others or the amount of time that passes between interractions with others, I feel that we become infinitely more likely to inspire a greater sense of love among others, as we will be teaching how to be a constant friend to all. I feel, when we take nothing personally, when we recognize that people are only doing the best they can with whatever amount of wisdom they have, we eliminate the necessity for apologies or reconnections with others, and, simply, are energetically united with all people and at all times.
That said, I feel that we must be sincere about people; others are guests in our lives just as we are guests in theirs, and just as we would not include something dangerous or unhelpful to our life in the home we build for ourselves, so would it behoove us to demonstrate wisdom and sincerity when choosing who to include and who not to include in our lives. Even still, I do not feel that that negates the importance of love being shown to all people, not just those closest to us. I feel that we can be loving to others without intimately including them in our lives. I feel that, when we are genuinely and unconditionally helpful toward someone on their journey to becoming their own greatest source of strength, wisdom, and peace after being invited by them to do so, we are just as loving to them as we would be to a close friend, family member, or significant other. They are not obligated to give us anything, nor do we, in being unconditionally loving, ask for anything in return. We are simply walking our own paths toward the same goal - aligning ourselves with a truly divine and love-filled way of life by becoming our own sources of strength, wisdom, and peace, and if anyone wishes to follow us, they are welcome and need only choose to do so, but whether they do or not, we will not be deterred from our path. Regardless of how much love others choose to show us, I do not feel we should be discouraged from showing anything but peace and unconditional love toward others at all times. In that way, I feel that we have the greatest potential of truly inspiring a greater amount of love and wisdom in the choices of those who choose to include us in their lives.
I broke up with my best friend this year. She had been creating a lot of stress for me as i watched her become more and more drawn into an eating disorder. When i approached her about anything she became angry or defensive. I finally decided I needed to break things off for my own mental health. She has been reaching out to me and I am trying to be polite but keep my boundaries firm. It is so hard!
@Anomalia there is this friend of mine who wouldn't eat until I called her and made her to eat, she wouldn't sleep until I made her to sleep, until the world sleep and in would just hear her breathing i had to wait for at least 45 min else she would make up and call me back in her sleepy voice.. Why did you keep the phone.. I was 1500 kms away and she was happy with me.. Just met her 11 times in my life talked to her for more then 2 years and now she is with someone else happy and doesn't bother to say even a hi to me.. But im happy that she is happy but somewhere deep it hurts..
@Anomalia
Thank you for crossing my path and walking through life with me.
I would say "I miss you, and I would do anything to turn back time to change things. Be safe and happy." But I wouldn't get to say anything to him anymore. He probably hates me now.
@Anomalia I value you.
I wish you would've been a better friend. You ditched me for I guess someone you thought was better & it hurt. It still hurts. I'm angry. You made me feel like I wasn't good enough. Like I was so easy to replace & that's not fair. You can't treat people that way. You spent months talking about her like she was trash & you couldn't stand her & then as soon as she had the baby you went running back & just ditched me. But I guess that just shows who you are. I'm not going to be waiting around for you next time.
How would you deal with someone cheating on you, and you broke it off but they technically don't know it, I guess? It was long distance and he hasn't read my messages. We didn't talk for a month and I only recently found out he was cheating not even a month, from the time we started dating.
