Gods Not Showing Up

Frustrated, Angry, and confused are all understatements to describe how I'm feeling

I've always expected God to show up but what happens when he doesn't

I sing the songs that say- I stand on a firm foundation or that I have faith that makes no sense

I do stand on a firm foundation and I do have faith in him that makes no sence

My faith that he will show up is dwindling, my faith that he cares is almost gone

I've literally begggggggged him too many times to count for him to speak to me or for him to show up

ive been quiet so I can hear him if he whispers

I've gone to every church service, mid-week service, etc you can imagine

Im reading the bible to hear from him directly

But all this does is leave me more confused then I was before

Every corner I turn, every website I go to, every interaction I have, every song I hear, in EVERYTHING I look for him

And everytime I'm disappointed, every single time

I thought it was my hope that he would show up but got let down

What it really was, was my expectation

I realized from a young age not to expect anything from anyone because that would lead to disappointment

I've learned in life you only have yourself and God

What I learned today is not to expect anything from God because that to would lead to disappointment

Thats not to say I dont belive in him

I know the king of kings is real

That knowledge itself will always hold a bit of hope that he will show up

It just means that Im done looking for him everywhere because he wont be there

it dosnt change why ive desperately been wanting to hear him or see him but at least I wont be hurt when he doesn't show up

Even as i write this im aware that a small part of me want him to show up here but I know he wont

I have to learn to let go of the expectation that he will show up

@callmeRM I'm not sure I'm what way you want God to show up, but God is all around us ❤ he's the reason for the sunrise, the reason for a child's laugh, that beautiful birds song. He hears us, and shows us that he cares in ways that are not obvious, like the unanswered prayers that if he granted would of changed your life in ways you can't think about. And he's the one who pushes you that extra mile, the reason that you chose the right path.he's here you can see him, but in ways you may not have seen before ❤❤

I think if you ask other Christians why God doesn’t show, they’ll say well God works in mysterious ways. Theres horrors in this world that are beyond imagination. Why does it continue? Because God works in mysterious ways. God allows such horrors because it is all part of his plan, as they say.

The mistake that Christians make is they forget that they too are a part of this raw potentiality that governs the forces of nature.

Once the sheep break loose from the demonic enclosure, only then can they return to their rightful shepherd. And graze upon the free grass once more.

Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.  We don't "see" God right now, but He is surely still at work.  He upholds all things by His word of power.  He loves you dearly and He demonstrated His love for you by sending His Son to die on the cross for you.  This doesn't serve to dismiss your pain or your feelings.  I have been going through a divorce and it is from a woman that says she loves God.  She won't reconcile and I have been blown away as to why she will not.  I have asked that question, too...God where are you in this.  I cannot say I have ever heard His voice audibly, but I know His word is true, by faith.  Faith is an intelligent faith, not just a blind hope.  I encourage you to study Christian Apologetics some, if you haven't, it is a huge help to me.  I pray you keep the faith and don't give up.  There is light ahead.

I'm not a religious person so I'm not sure my comment will be what you want to hear but I'll go ahead anyway. (Just in case)

For God to show up, YOU must show up, stand strong, trust yourself, support yourself and most importantly, know yourself truly and deeply.

You do not need to stand on the foundation, you already are the foundation, stay grounded, stay connected, stay present.

God/the creator/ the source is always there, whether you have faith or not. Start within yourself.

Try listening to your heart, your intuition, you gut. The mind and the ego are quick to play tricks. What you think you need, the answers, the whispers, You already know it. Stillness in the mind is necessary for you to feel it. You don't need to wait for anything, for you already have it.

TRUST YOU.

Feeling the wind on your skin, seeing the baby bird take it's first flying lesson, telling someone you love them, showing kindness, accepting help, loving yourself, getting through a challenge... God is in all of that, there's no need to search.

Please be gentle with yourself ❤️❤️

@callmeRM Indeed...I asked similar questions, many years ago.

One can just as easily ask it for every innocent victim of natural evils such as earthquakes, tsunamis, new viral mutations, etc. That doesn't take into account "manmade evils" like war & other phenomena that would be triggering to some of us here. (At this point believers usually default to the free will argument but the concept of free will is, itself, unscientific & philosophically unsound.)

And that is one reason why I stopped trying to "have faith".
