Reaching out
Hello everybody. God has called me to get more involved in this community. And God has called me to teaching and using my verified listener skills in faith based matters. I'm on a project at the church I was raised and baptized in but leaving soon. The mentally ill minority...many in secret...in a lot of churches have gone neglected. My research shows this more in more conservative churches. Ignore the old views of it being a moral flaw. A lot dropped that idea anday just not know how to handle it. My soon to be former church is conservative. It's old and I'm younger but been there longer than most. If they knew my sexuality I'd be asked to leave. Some my departure me starting a group/class for the mentally ill and how their faith has been effected.
Also I want to put out there I am glad to listen on faith based issues. I won't put my theology out there if we differ. But some things we all agree on. I have empathy in this matter. I felt the need to keep it secret. My door is open.
Remember these basic things. God know mental illness is a disease just as physical as heart disease. God is love. God knows the heart. And God doesn't give us more than we can handle even if it doesn't feel that way. Pray pray pray. If you come to me for a chat when it ends I will keep working. I don't know you but will say a prayer for you. Let's raise our voices in our places of worship. If God allowed us a mental illness he knows we are pretty strong people. Mental illness isn't a punishment or test. Just a disease. Many people have diseased. Let it build your voice. It's not great we have it but find the positives and make something good. Nobody on Earth is without a purpose. Big or small. God didn't make nobody's.
Just know my door is open. Helping you is helping me too. Let's be in this together. Brothers and sisters. I will be upfront I am gay. I don't bring it up in a chat or get mad if you're against it. Just want you to know in case it would make you uncomfortable. Jesus helped mentally ill people. Can't get more worthy that that. Read my profile and know any other topic I can help with combined or separate. I'm only offering this here in the community since it's not a clear option when requesting a listener. I not going to give and personal views in this community without disclaiming it's just my personal view. I hope you all accept me here. I'm limited at the church. But I'm teaching that group one way or the other. How many mentally ill people sit in secret in the pews? You don't have to.

What I don’t understand is how can someone go to heaven or heck if their body is always on the surface of earth? Also if the ghost or spirit comes out of the body then why care about heaven or heck if the ectoplasm or whatever substance that spirits are made of doesn’t contain a nervous system or nerve endings? I’ve always contemplated this. Am I missing something or am I not perceiving something right? I don’t know. You seem like someone who may have an answer for me. This seems to me to be one of the most important questions in the area of religion.
@faithfulCoconut848 these are very common and understandable questions. If you would like to private message me I would be more than happy to go through these things with you. I've managed to learn to explain things easier that by some who taught me throughout life. I will go over how the Bible actually explains these things. Weed out what pop culture and stuff has made things seem. You will just need to understand there are things science can't explain. Hence there's a whole branch of philosophy called meta physics. Hi Cat.
I let you see this one since you're in a church who accept persons from the LG......-community and also are a pastor there. Light can not tell that he's gay in his church. Maybe you have some words for him.
I am glad to respond to a question. One thing we pastors know is that you only get to be somebody's pastor because they let you. I never want to insinuate myself on someone. However, I can say that my experience in a church that accepts the LG community, that has only recently happened officially. The reality is that the church I serve is very broad spectrum from people who are very traditional minded all the way to very progressive. The key is to remember you cannot argue someone into a different frame of mind and change their heart. The only thing that wins people over is love and grace.
