I never used to believe in such things. My inner atheist thinks it's nonsense. My agnostic side thinks it's a possibility. My life has been strange, however, and now I believe (on my good days).
I believe there are forces beyond my knowing that guide me. Beings that saw something in me and gave me signs. A bird perching on my shoulder. Never being seriously injured. The insight to see that I know almost nothing but to build on what I do know. Guardian angels.
And I see it in some people too. A random who dreamt about me enveloped in a colourful aura. A friend who saw light in me despite all my growing darkness. Strangers on the internet who call me to threads that make me question everything (you are one, Amanda!).
I would never try to force such belief on someone for I have had beliefs forced on me in the past. I do think it is a source of comfort though, at least for me. To think that even when I'm alone there are higher powers looking over me, wishing me all the best, provides peace.
My father told me a story of when I was 5. Apparently, I saw angels in the sky. I've never been especially creative and was ignorant of religion then. I'm still not sure what to make of that. I do not remember it. I do remember about a decade and a half ago seeing a dancing light in the sky. Aliens? Angels? You tell me.
@cyanessence respect, yes, it's better when we come to realisations on our own 💜🥰 I like to think a guardian angel walks with me, protecting, guiding and gently encouraging me 💜 I see what your saying, the presence of angels is all around us if we jut look, in the beauty of nature, of action and in the wonderment that is life 🥰💜

What is true for me may be someone else's nightmare. I try to take great care with my words... even the notion of love, for some, is pure pain. A stark reminder of what they have never experienced. Being on a forum centred around mental health, I am more comfortable spreading messages of love, but I have seen some react poorly. I can only hope they can find some form of peace.
If angels walk among us, I have no doubt you would be one Amanda.
@cyanessence ah thank you 🥰 Yes, it's very difficult navigating our way round finding the right words, when people are suffering from trauma or not experiencing love, and have not found it or feel lonely, it can be heart wrenching to talk about, but love in any and every form needs to be celebrated and cherished 💜🥰
@Amanda84 Ever since my then 4 month old daughter was admitted in hospital an not expected to live—da day came I paced da hallway for a few only to return to her room an alhough I saw nothin’ there was a sense of angels bein’ over her bed. Da next day I returned once again to her room only to see 7 doctors around her hed an one doctor turn to his colleague an said “this is a miracle.”

The atheist in me says NO. I was was brought up in a Catholic household but as a child, forced to go to church., even Catholic junior school. I could could just not wrap my head around anything in the bible.
But that's just me 😁
@braindamag3 I'm a Catholic too 😊 the beauty for me is being able to not agree with people but still have a wonderful conversation at the same time , so thank you for your input 💜 the world would be so less colourful if we all thought the same 🥰

Yes, I believe those on a higher plane of existence are very much interested in our spiritual growth. This is if you assume that they are positively oriented. We are them, thousands or millions of years behind.
An angel is defined as:
"a spiritual being believed to act as an attendant, agent, or messenger of God, conventionally represented in human form with wings and a long robe."
An alien is defined as:
"a hypothetical or fictional being from another world."
The English language isn't useful for talking about these invisible concepts.

I absolutely believe in Guardian Angels. I know mine has protected me and put me on the path I am in my life. There have been times of struggle and sadness in my life. When I look back I realize that the heartbreak had to happen because it truly was for my best and brought me to a better place and a better person. I am truly grateful for my guardian angel. I am sure I keep this angel very busy!! 🙂

Even if I did believe in guardian angels, it wouldn't help...The way I've lived in certain times of my life, if I ever had a guardian angel he lost track of me a long time ago. 😂
Yes, absolutely. I am an Orthodox Christian and we believe that we receive a guardian angel when we are baptised. We must cultivate a relationship of prayer with our guardian angel and our patron saint whose name we bear too. They’re amazing friends and help us in our journey.
