Religion and me
I am not now, nor have I ever been a religious person. I have explored a little in different faiths but never truly committed or believed.
The recent events added to my extensive history of personal issues along with the acceptance of myself being transgender have somehow got me to this strange point of maybe exploring this topic a little deeper. I should also add that there have been a few, mainly one that has been steadfast in their belief and tried to steer me in the direction of believing and accepting.
I am rambling again, basically what I am trying to get to is a question that I request doesn’t get twisted into a charged discussion. My interests are for me , myself and I only.
I want to get ahold of a bible, but there are so many versions. I am of no particular denomination or faith. I just don’t want to buy one that has twisted things around to suit people’s particular hates.
Which version or versions would be suggested and where would I get them. I truly would prefer an actual book in my hand not read it online, or something.

Friend - If I read the English Bible I read The Amplified Bible. I got it as a gift from Joyce Meyers Ministries USA. I also listen a lot to her talks - I think she is very down to earth when she is preaching. Many of the sentences also are written in ( ) with the translation from original language, Hebrew and Greec.

A little encouragement for you here in lifes battles: Elton John "I'm still standing". I think it is shown from the French Riviera, Nice, Carlton hotel. I have been at Nice, looked a bit like a movie with the palms and the beaches.
Today it is raining and the wind is blowing here, 12 degrees Celcius. But the 2 big roses, soul and Iam are standing there, blowing in the wind.

Hopefully we'll no longer have things deleted now that we know what the problem was. We just have to avoid certain words apparently. I've often wondered how many negative points I might have. I'm writing today - but I don't know how often I'll write now. The Flam Railway from Bergen is nice, at Voss many are coming to do sports in the air, water and mountains. At Lillehammer (East part of Norway) the winter-olympic was held many years ago. I was there, staying at a friends house. I met her when I visited Rome in Italy in my 20.th. And yes - I got really fed up with 7Cups (lol!). I'm not strong, so all the things that were deleted, questions I asked that were not answered, discussions tired me. I felt like my whole being was just threads (lol). 7Cups is doing a lot for persons.

I get fed up with things here too. It's supposed to be a safe space to talk about anything but I run into censors, edits and deletions. So I understand what you mean. Some times we have to take a step or two back because fighting it all the time is just entirely too tiring. ❤️

It's great to hear that you're being drawn to the Word. If anything, I really recommend NKJV (New King James Version) of the Bible and starting somewhere in the New Testament to learn more about the teachings of our Lord Jesus. Feel free to message with any questions, and I wish you all the best <3

I cannot advise you on what version of a Christian Bible to buy, because I am not a NT expert. From my readings of it, King James versions seem quite archaic...there's one called the NRSV (New Revised Standard Version) which is a translation of the texts into modern American English. Dunno if that's what you want but if I were in your shoes, that's what I'd go for.
The "Old Testament", now...that, I can tell you about. If you want an authentic one that is close to the source material, look up the Jewish Publication Society (JPS) & find a Tanakh (or Tanach). The Stone edition is translated from the Hebrew, & has helpful commentaries on the bottom of most of the pages. If you want you can almost certainly order one off ∆mazon or bookshop.org. Opt for a used one & you might save a few dollars.
