Hello there!
Wonderful post on Cyber Bullying! I believe you did a good job covering all the main points.
I have not experienced cyber bullying, but I know many people who have been victims of such behavior.
The main thing I try to remind people who are victims of cyber bullying is to not feed into it, since cyber bullying is similar to bullying in person. They want to see you react.
If you don't feed in and you stay being the bigger person, it can at time make the bully go away.
If this doesn't work, there are alternatives such as blocking, reaching out to the social media page, changing your phone number, or reaching out to your local police department.
Again, thank you for bringing this up :)
Firstly, thank you for writing this post on such an important issue.
Thankfully, I haven't experienced cyberbullying. However, I can empathize with the victims. The impact of cyberbullying can be quite detrimental, psychologically, emotionally and physically. People can develop anxiety, depression and many times , they can end up in crisis situations as well. Based on my understanding of bullies in general, they engage in such cruel acts probably because it's a form of entertainment for them and they bully others to boost their own ego and self-esteem. This could be due to the lack of attention they received in their respective lives. They want to have power and control and they try to achieve this, by humiliating others.
Unfortunately, bullies don't realize how much hurt they are causing in another individual's life and how negatively they are affecting the families of these victims. Bullies need professional support as well. Their energy needs to be channelized in the right direction.
