Flagging posts isn’t about getting someone “in trouble.” It’s about keeping the community safe, supportive, and running smoothly — like quietly pointing out a spill so no one slips. 🧹💚

Here’s a quick guide on when to flag, why it matters, and what not to engage with.

🧭 When Should You Flag a Forum Post?

You might consider flagging if a post includes:

🧯 Spam or Advertising

Spam can be random links, promotions, or repeated copy-paste messages. It can also be bots or accounts clearly not seeking or offering support.

👉 Why flag instead of replying?

Replying boosts visibility and encourages more spam. Flagging helps moderators remove it quickly and keeps the forum readable for everyone.

🧍 A Listener Seeking Support

Sometimes listeners post about their own distress, burnout, or personal struggles. That is human AND it is important to handle it the right way. 

👉 What to do:

Flag the post so a moderator can see it and reach out to the listener. If you comment to the post, kindly encourage them to switch to a member account for support.

👉 Why this matters:

Listeners deserve support too, but listener spaces aren’t meant for receiving care. Using a member account protects boundaries, anonymity, and emotional safety for everyone involved.

🚨 Content That Breaks Forum Guidelines

This can be graphic, unsafe, or triggering material. It can also be harassment, hate speech, or aggressive behavior. It can also be requests for help that requires crisis or professional intervention. You can click here for more forum guidelines to be aware of.

Flagging these posts help ensures the right people can step in appropriately. It is important not to respond to material that violates guidelines and flag instead.

🛑 A Quick Note About Not Engaging With Spam

Sometimes it can be tempting to respond with "This is spam" "Why are you posting this?" or "LOL what is this??" It is totally understandable but skipping replies and just flagging is the most helpful move. No attention = no fuel
