Hello Community,

In recent days, we've seen a phishing scam in our community. You do not have anything to be concerned about.

However, we ask that you take extra care in the following ways:

- do not click on strange links
- do not log in again when you are already logged in
- be sure to look in the address bar when on a new web page

Additionally, please note:

- 7 cups site is always at 7cups.com ,etc

- If you are concerned at all, please change your 7 Cups password

- If you have opted-in to the 7 Cups automatic welcome program, we are sending welcomes out! This is not part of the scam.

If you believe you may have been hacked:

1. use this form to let admin know about your situation.
2. change your password right away if you can.
3. we will reset it for you if you have been locked out.

@Jenna wait is this the same thing as when people had a link and you clicked on it and it showed your IP and location or is this different?

@TheAsh

It can be done through links, but it's a bit more extreme than just a link that gets your IP address.

@Jenna @TheAsh

This particular situation is entirely different. Regardless, to keep safe, please do not click on links from users you do not know.

well at least you didn't call it "spam" this time XD

for people asking: a phishing scam is when somebody tricks you in order to steal your passwords and/or other information, this is why you should use a different password for everything

I'm glad that this is being brought up. I've had a lot of people ask me about these suspicious links recently and I'm super thankful that it's being made aware of. ♥

It hurts to see that people would do this on a site that's meant to be 100% supportive, safe, and secure.

@Laura

I click on one of my notifications to go to support chat instead of using chat link and it took me to a login page. I'm glad I knew I was alredy logged in and decided to go with the menu link instead of trying to login a second time now.

@CoinFountain - was this while in the app? sometime the app will send you to a browser if it doesn't know how to open a link.

(we are working on a fix so that will not require a second login so that people don't get comfortable logging in twice like that.)

@CoinFountain - it could be that your login cookie had expired?

@KrinkTheMellowUnicorn

I clicked on the community link up top and it let me in that way instead of through the event announcements in the notifier. The notifier gave me the login screen while I was obviously still signed in and able to get to the chat that the notification was advertising.

@CoinFountain - there must have been something "off" in the link on that alert, then

Recently I've noticed whenever I click on to chat with a listener it just goes straight to an offline message. I'm wondering what's going on. Not sure if this has something to do with it or something else or if it's some kind of a glitch. It's annoying because I want to talk to listeners when they accept and not have to use the maximum offline messages. If someone could tell me what's going on here, that would be great.

@snoweiey you are most likely contacting listeners who have set their status to "busy" or "offline", as opposed to "online". This can happen if, when you use browse listeners, you search by categories or key words that are much rarer, or you are sorting them by something other than availability. Because then there might not be any listeners with their status on online available who meet those criteria. What you can try to do is widen your search criteria, and/or see if you can check to make sure their status is on online

Yes, I encountered one of the individuals with one of these malicious link. The website certificate, web address, and the strange log-in screen gave it away, though! :O
