Forum Flag question
If a forum post is flagged and it gets taken out of the flag queue without edits/deletions can the same post be flagged effectively by the same person?
Most of the time I am an editor/deletor, but there are times where I feel it's inappropriate to take action myself, it requires messaging which I can't do, it deserves more action than what I can accomplish or I'm just not up to dealing with it. I'm finding there are times there are obvious issues yet others on the forum team do not make changes to the flagged posts and repeat flagging doesn't change that.

You bring an important matter about the flagging of forums. Anyone can reflag a post as many times as they want to. From there it will be looked at again. As you mentioned it seems to be the same posts not being handled at all. Am going to tag the subcommunity leaders so they can explain the process better.

@7CupsCommunity Now, in 2023, it is no longer true that anyone can reflag a post as many times as they want to. Some posts cannot be flagged. When you try, there's a displayed message saying "API Error", together with a hidden message saying the post was flagged before.

hi affy i was wanting to help out with posts that have been flagged ive noticed that some very abusive comments that have been flagged multiple times are not being removed for hours and ive noticed this happening more often. This might just be a problem with people on the forum flag team being too busy to remove/edit quicker than that but i really feel like it should be a lot quicker especially with posts that are abusive so could you please give me a link to get started or more info on the process of joining the forum flag team.
@jennysunrise8 It might also be a problem with the forum software. Perhaps, when the database is updated, the views do not always update immediately.

@RarelyCharlie honestly sometimes i wonder if theres just one tech person here and theyre just a volunteer getting to everything when they feel like it 😢 so it could definately be some kind of bug that needs fixed and has needed fixed for a long time but maybe people are busy or not enough people volunteering to do that also most likely both i think
@RarelyCharlie I haven't noticed a delay from flagging to the queue, There have been times I cannot flag a particular post. I have noticed a delay with editing at times. App may be different.
@jennysunrise8 As far as I know, there's no application for the forum flag team. People on the team are typically forum mentors, but others do have forum editing capabilities, there's a list of roles here. You can check with CheeryMango what's required.
Is there a particular time you tend to notice flags aren't being dealt with quickly?
@AffyAvo thank you for that link it looks like there could be a few ways to get on it a forum mentor might be the longest route i think you need to spend some time as a forum supporter first a few months but i could be completely wrong about that but thanks i will just talk to mango and just ask i noticed there are forum keys or project keys i wonder if processing flags could be considered a project or maybe that already exists anyways ill talk to mango thanks affy :)
@AffyAvo it seems like weekday mornings it takes a lot longer for something to be removed sunday night less than 20 minutes and the next morning it doesnt get removed for almost 6 hours
@jennysunrise8 Hopefully the new changes will help! If there does seem to be a lag at particular times though, hopefully we can get people on board to fill them.
