Ok so I've just joined here and I'm looking for someone to talk to about trauma. This happened recently and I'm kinda struggling bad. I thought here would be ideal to try and talk but a listener answered and said they had experience in it. But said they can only take calls right now. I asked if it was allowed and they told me it's what some people need and they set time aside for it and I said I don't want to get in any trouble they told me o won't but to be honest I'm a bit shook up by this as I wasn't expecting it. I don't know who the person is so I don't want to give them my details
They shouldn't be asking for your personal information, since technically any off-site contact isn't allowed. I think you should probably report them too for wanting your information.
Hopefully you'll get a better listener than that...

@Nicole27 - Hi lovely! First of all, I'm sorry someone asked for you to call them - as others have said, that's not allowed here and you were right to trust your instincts that it didn't feel right to share contact info with a stranger.
You can report this behaviour in two ways - the first is if you still have that chat window open (meaning you didn't block them), you can click the star to leave a review. In the text section you can say that they wanted you to give them your phone number, and the admins will be able to flag the review and let the listener know why this isn't allowed, etc. If you have blocked them or don't have an ability to do that anymore, you can also email community@7cups.com to report.
I know that you're probably feeling a bit shaken and like someone tried to violate your trust, but if you do want to still talk about how things are going and need a safe place, there are loads of listeners here who would love to support you without asking you to call them, etc. You are more than welcome to message me or any other listener to chat.
