Search

Is there a way you can search what topics or posts you've made? I know you get notifications when someone replies but other than that is there a way to search them? I ask mainly cause what happens if someone gives advice or something and you want to go back later and re read it.

Just wondering

@gardenlady The best thing to do if you think you want to review something again is to bookmark it or save the link. The notes feature can be used for this.

You can try searching the forums with the 7cups search for your name or keyword, the functionality is pretty limited. I also often use google to do a site specific search although it doesn't always get all of the posts.

It has been suggested multiple times to include a feature to find all of our own posts, hopefully it will be added one day.

@gardenlady Sorry, I don't use the app. I'll see if I can get someone else to help!

Hey there, lovely @gardenlady

I think I'm experienced enough in the ways of the app to confirm your question, I hope ^^ Admittedly, it's rather difficult to work your way around the forums on the iPhone app, especially in regards to finding an older thread. There is no option to bookmark or save any of the threads on the app (nor is there on the actual website, but I believe that Affy means bookmarking in general) which is a bit of a pain.

I highly suggest submitting the idea of being able to save forum threads into the Member Suggestion Box, which is the best way of getting your ideas heard [@Anomalia runs this - feel free to PM her also]. As I understand it, the leaders are aware that this would be a cool feature as many have suggested it also, but it isn't currently at the top of the priority list - though I hope it will come in the near future. In the meanwhile, I recommend you to take a note of the thread place details (the thread name, the sub-forum section, then the forum section) so you can try and find it next time on the app.

Example: This thread is called Search, in the Questions Sub-Forum, in the Questions, Feedback, Ideas & Fun forum section. To find this on the app, I would go to the Community section on the menu bar, select Categories, select Questions, Feedback, Ideas & Fun forum section, click on Questions Sub-Forum, then look for the Search thread. Rather long-winded, but that's the best option to use right now. Unless anyone else is able to offer their kind expertise and wisdom on how to find older threads more easily!

Please do fill out that Suggestion Box linked above, I hope it'll be seen and responded to soon. Please do ask away if you have any more questions, lovely. I'm incredibly glad that you're here; wishing you all the best!

(Thank you @AffyAvo, for drawing my attention to this thread!)
