Try to avoid responding immediately and figure out why I am uncomfortable. If they are being really inappropriate, use the on-call mod form. If they are just saying something to me that I find upsetting, I can mute. If I find that I'm getting upset over something that normally wouldn't bother me I need to examine what other things might be going on, sometimes I can pick up on a prodrome due to an unusual (for me) emotional response to something and it means it's time to do an infusion before I get an attack.

First reply, and it's a really good one! Great points, and I especially love the mention of self-examination when you seem unusually set off by something. For me, that is often the case.
@AffyAvo definetly great points affy
There's lots of things you can try out in order to help you feel more comfortable. You can try to set up a healthy boundary by expressing to the person that you feel uncomfortable with the way they are speaking to you. You can kindly ask them to please stop. If that person ignores your boundary you can try to connect 1-1 with a listener to get more personal support. You can use your personal mute button and that way you won't have to see messages from that person anymore. You can also file a report when you mute them if you think their behavior needs to be reported. Or you can take a self care break and step back from the chat and come back when you are feeling better or when the triggering person is no longer online. If you are friends with any moderators you can pm them and ask them to keep an eye out on the chat and help make it more supportive (without revealing usernames in order to avoid favoritism / triangulation) If the behavior meets a reason to fill out an emergency mod report form you can fill that out by clicking the form link located in the chatroom rules. All these things are great tools to help keep you safe when you are in group chats!

I try to talk it out in a pm if I feel that nothing will resolve it. Then I ignore them in the room ( sad to say it ). I will say hi to them to show I am a kind and honest person. If after that they continue to be rude them I have no choice but to mute them.
Mute them.
I don't consider groupchats as the sort of place where genuine human interaction takes occurs. The anonymous nature of a groupchat allows our baser more feral instincts to be set free with very little consequence. People, myself included, do things in groupchats we'd never do to someone face to face.
I don't got the time for any of that. So I mute them.
@DaveMcGrath
I made a magic spell for the group rooms XD If you see conflict repeat to yourself ...
"Expecto Patronum Personal Mutus"
Don't forget the next step and press the personal mute button. It's magical!!!! No more conflict! There's one catch to the magic spell...you have to stop talking about it and you can't mention the name of the user you muted or else the magic doesn't work!!!!!!!

I say this when i mod group support XDXD
@summertimeSamness
Or my favorite.
Exacto Openus Bookus and Logus offus internetus! Kazaam!
@DaveMcGrath
LOL That's a really good one!!!! XDXDXD
@summertimeSamness lol samness its definetly magic isnt it
@Heather225 like pam id use conflict resolution pm them maybe there just acting out as need support so id find out why they are making others uncomfortable see if we can come to a solution to stop what there doing etc but if no resolve those they mak etremly uncomfortable say not just myself as a mod id remind them of the rules give a few warnings verbally im a bit lax so theyd get more than the usual 3 in hopes theyd change i still no change a physical warning to show this is real not cool there upsetting others making rooms unsafe but id also remind anyone who feels bothered by it can use their mute button
@Heather225
I would either leave the room, use personal mute or even chill out in the forums or pms (:
