Don't let the haters stop you from doing your thing - Anon.
For 1-1 chats, remember to keep asking open-ended questions but regardless of the situation, if speaking with a member anywhere, always prioritise focusing on their current feelings whilst remembering not to give advice.
Stay positive but don't burn yourself out, take breaks and stay awesome <3

People will tell you that your teen years are supposed to be the best times of your life. For many people, that's true. But for a lot of people, it's not. And expecting these years to be the best of your life when you still have about 50 or 60 plus years ahead of you isn't fair to those other years. As a teen, everything inside you and around you is changing and growing and a lot of times those changes aren't pretty or fun. Life won't always be rainbows and butterflies, but it does get better! - Katheryn
Do not believe blindly in anything that one hands you, fact check it. - AntiOxidant
We love teens and we respect them, the same we expect to be respected in our space, if you will be open to interacting with us, we will welcome you. Too many teens upset the adults when they age up saying how they miss the teen side and want to go back, while that is understandable, we love our side and its not very fun hearing about how aged up teens are not very fond of it. Its give and take. - Anon
It is okay to mess up and need to ask for help, no matter how old we get, how long we have been here, what we do, where we are in leadership positions. We are far from perfect and are here to support each other. Conflict will happen, not everyone will get along with everyone, and that is okay. Like ice cream, all good flavors, but we have the ones that we consistently go to. If we try to please everyone, we will please no one.
Forgive. Not forgive and forget, just, FORGIVE. As hard as it can be to forgive someone, and even harder yourself, we can't change what has happened. Holding something in can be so damaging to our mental health. I'm pretty sure all of us are human, meaning we all make mistakes. Forgive, and never regret. Learn from it. Your past does not define who you are. - Teagan
Learn to take steps to build your self esteem. No one else usually will.
"Many people base their self-esteem on external factors, such as how much money they earn, how much they weigh and whether people like and appreciate them. If one of these external variables change, self-esteem can be broadly affected. For example, if your self-esteem is based on the fact that someone else loves you, then you risk feeling extremely vulnerable and worthless if that persons love ends. By the same token, building self-esteem is not an easy task if you have been abused or have suffered years of personal or professional failure.
Building your self-esteem and creating a positive self-awareness comes from taking an inventory of your own strengths and abilities as a human being. Being at peace with who you are and what you have to offer the world is a major part of having high self-esteem. This inner peace does not mean that you are unaware of your weaknesses; it merely means that you accept who you are and genuinely like the person you have become.
You should think about yourself as deserving of attention, admiration and proper maintenance. Avoid the pitfall of paying too much attention to the happiness and well-being of others and too little to your own. Maintaining self-esteem involves becoming fully aware of your strengths and seeing challenges as opportunities to employ those strengths." shared by SoulSings Author: By Lynn Ponton, MD

whatever happens in your life, whatever you go through, no matter how bad it is, it's happening for a reason. if you're going through bad times take a bit of time sink into your sadness for a bit then make sure that you rise again, brush everything off and get up stronger because every event in this life has a lesson to offer or something beneficial to you, and if you ever feel alone or lonely remember that you got yourself and that's what matters and if you have somone to vent to then that's great if not try a method like writing diaries, writing a song, or just write your raw thoughts somewhere as well we're all here to help each other so if you want to vent here you're always welcome and we'll recieve you with open arms.
Think about future implications when posting online. Things have changed so much when I was young. Stuff like reverse image searches never crossed my mind when I was younger!
Be curious and become lifelong learners.
I wish I would have taken the advice I was given when I first entered the scary void of the internet. @ teens = Listen to the advice! I know you think you are invincible and that known of that stuff could happen to you, but it can. Please be careful!!!!!!
Hey everyone! Hotaru419 here saying Listen to your elders!
My words of wisdom are to seek help from an adult or someone who cares about you right away if bullied and keep any proof of this happening. Do not wait even another second and if you feel like you can not talk to anyone then say something out loud and make sure someone around you hears and when you are spoken to tell them exactly what happened and how you feel. If they choose not to listen repeat it over and over but there are many places to talk to someone and get help sometimes you just dont see it because you just cant. This is what happened to my daughter and she never said a word but she herself will tell you talk to your mom or dad or someone you know cares about you because they will help you.
If you need to talk message here I will listen to you.
This thread is great!! Always remember that it's okay to reach out and ask for help, you're not alone
It's great that the younger generation can fully see they are not alone and those adults they look up to have the same and similar struggles. No one is alone and here we can get those pick me ups and adv from those who have been there!
