Self esteem 😝

You know how hard it is to have self esteem?

It is incredibly hard and difficult .

Self-esteem is your overall sense of personal worth and value—essentially, how much you appreciate and like yourself regardless of external circumstances. It acts as an internal compass, shaping how you navigate challenges, handle criticism, and form relationships. When you have healthy self-esteem, you recognize your inherent value and strengths while acknowledging your flaws without harsh self-judgment, giving you the resilience to recover from setbacks and pursue goals with confidence.

Building self-esteem involves shifting how you relate to yourself on a daily basis. Start by replacing harsh self-criticism with self-compassion—treating yourself with the same patience and understanding you would offer a good friend when things go wrong. Setting small, realistic goals and celebrating incremental wins helps build a genuine track record of competence, which naturally strengthens your self-trust. Additionally, practicing mindfulness allows you to catch negative self-talk before it takes hold, while establishing healthy boundaries protects your time and energy, reinforcing the belief that your needs and feelings matter.

Some self esteem affirmations you can use:

Self-Acceptance & Worth

  • I am worthy of love, respect, and success exactly as I am right now.
  • My worth is defined by who I am, not by my productivity or external approval.
  • I embrace my flaws and view mistakes as opportunities to learn, not as failures.

Inner Strength & Confidence

  • I trust myself to handle whatever challenges come my way.
  • I have unique talents, insights, and strengths that bring value to the world.
  • My voice matters, and I have the right to express my needs and feelings clearly.

Growth & Self-Compassion

  • I talk to myself with kindness, patience, and understanding.
  • I let go of the need to be perfect and give myself grace as I grow.
  • I am allowed to set boundaries that protect my peace and well-being.

To make them stick, pick two or three that resonate most with you and repeat them aloud in the morning, or write them down daily.

  1. What do you think is your self esteem now on a scale from 0 to 10 with 0 being the worst and 10 being the best?

My self esteem is pretty bad tbh. Maybe like a 2 or 3 I guess.

Idrk what would help, maybe if I was actually treated like I mattered and not treated like a burden all the time then maybe that could help.

1. I’d give myself a 4. Sometimes I’m still influenced by some memories from the past. I feel like I can still sense the trauma within me. After reading today’s topic, I started thinking that love, respect, and self-worth are some of the basic things every human being deserves. These should be values that people hold when we live in this world. I could hardly feel love, happiness, or a sense of self-worth before. So I’m really glad to read this💙.

2. First, realizing that we ourselves are also human beings. Treating ourselves as living beings, trusting our own beliefs, and giving ourselves the care and respect we deserve. I’ll try practicing mindfulness in the morning. I haven’t really experienced it before, but right now I feel like I need it. For me, setting boundaries also means saving my energy in social activities and treasuring the people who share the same values as me.

My self esteem is all over the scale. 😅 I don't know how to improve it other than keep living life and improving what I can about myself or things around me.
