Self-harm Help Monday two
It seems we made it to the second Self-harm Help Monday and I m so excited and proud of you all for managing this! I want to share something first. Please everyone and especially listeners check the comment of Remina on this post:
https://www.7cups.com/forum/selfharm/General_2451/FirstSelfharmHelpMonday_385087/
Because she says about what listeners should do at my posts something I forgot to mention. Thanks @Remina!
So after setting it all let's start!
Every Monday, reply with your 3 'W's in the comments:
1. Win: What is one small victory you had this week? (Even if it’s just 1 hour clean, or using a distraction tactic).
2. Wave: Did you face a heavy wave/urge this week? How did you ride it out?
3. Word: What is one encouraging word or piece of advice you want to leave for the person who comments after you?
Great! Now let's set the rules:
• The Buddy Reply Rule: Once you post your update, please read the comment right above yours and leave them a message of encouragement, a heart emoji, or a supportive thought!
• The Support Rule: Please be supportive to one another! Avoid unnecessary advices. Show empathy!
Dont forget:
💡 Reminder: We do not need to hurt our skin to feel something or to punish ourselves. Our skin is not paper to cut it. I believe you've got this.

I made a mistake with the link up there. Remina's comment is here:

Win: I'm two days clean so i guess that's something, been trying to do more of the things I like doing to try to help.
Wave: I had strong urges this week and ended up relapsing 😔 Its been a hard week and nothing was helping so wasn't really able to do anything to get through it.
Word: you are not your urges, and they don't get to define who you are.

Hey its okay! I get it can be hard and especially with hard urges. I believe in you though. Remember its okay to relapse.
Word: you are not your urges, and they don't get to define who you are.
Thats so true!!!

yes a few time due to feeling and well things in my head i came online talked in chatroom anf wrote a few poems about why i was feeling what i was this helped a lot
i say to one posting after me is one day at a time but some times it ok to just take one hour at a time
@HopeWithinDarkness
Yay I'm so proud of you for making it through the week without relapsing and for coming online instead!!
Also, love the way of thinking of just taking it one hour at a time sometimes, cause that can feel a lot more manageable than a day at a time :)

Win: I learned a new strategy to combat bad thoughts, and I thought it might be nice to share too! If you're having a negative thought (ex.: I'm a bad friend), first think of the opposite of that thought (I am a good friend), and then find evidence to support both claims. A lot of the time, you'll find a lot more evidence for the good thoughts vs the bad ones.
Wave: I unfortunately did face some really strong urges and ended up relapsing, but I was trying some distractions, like reading a book.

Ohhhh thats such a great one!! Thank you for sharing it. It's a really amazing way of looking at things.

Oop its okay! Relapse doesnt mean you are not progressing or healing. Take your time! Distractions are amazing!
Word: I think a lot of the time, you'll hear people giving out advice and coping strategies, but sometimes they might not be the right ones for you. If something doesn't work for you, it doesn't make you invalid; it doesn't mean you're broken, and it definitely doesn't mean that nothing will ever work for you. It just means that particular strategy wasn't the most effective for you.
I love that one! Its so nice! I m sure people will love it as well
Congratulations on finding a new coping mechanism!!!
I relapsed too. I believe you can pick yourself back up!!!
Win: I stopped myself
Wave: I relapsed
3: You don't have to completely spiral because you relapse once.
@agreeableSkies9889
Well done for stopping yourself. Its okay if you relapsed it doesnt mean you sre a failure or something. Amazing message by the way
