Forum notifications
Is it just me? Or did someone finally fix forum notifications so they link to the right place?
If someone fixed it, hooray!!!
What about fixing the spam problem, though
@RarelyCharlie
oh my days! Fixing the spam problem! Now there
A pretty small task.
When I wrote a personal spam blocker for 7 Cups months ago it took me a couple of hours at most. Since then I've completely re-written it to make it faster, spending maybe another couple of hours to do that.
Today I noticed spam from several listener accounts. I had programmed my blocker to trust listeners. Oops! Modifying it to block this new kind of spam took maybe five minutes.
@professionalPerspective60
@RarelyCharlie @Krinkthemellowunicorn Is this something that could be added onto the site, pretty please?
@AffyAvo - Has this type of spam been reported? This is literally the first I am hearing of it.
@ObviouslyKrink I think so, others were mentioning/flagging it before I even saw some. I haven't seen any recently, it seemed to be a few days were it was coming up.
An unrelated matter—the Crazy Face emoji that you pasted in your reply doesn't display on my computer. I just see a square. This is (partly) because 7 Cups doesn't include any font that supports all the emoji. But I hestatate to mention such a minor thing when there is all that spam.
@professionalPerspective60
@RarelyCharlie - I will add it to the bug list at number 73,458
Wow! 73,458 bugs! I'd never have guessed.
Oh, now that I think about it, maybe that's because the app doesn't let me log in at all, so I probably don't see most of them
@ObviouslyKrink
speaking of notifications - I wish I were automatically notified of new threads in this forum!
Yes, @RarelyCharlie, we finally finally finally fixed forum notifications in the browser, thanks to @ezraBC and Bilal, and at least for now the app at least goes to the correct forum page if not yet to the specific correct reply/post.
@ObviouslyKrink - oh whoops. responding in my test member acct. Derp! (signed @krinkthemellowunicorn)
But not quite finally finally finally finally, because it still doesn't quite go to the right place—the navigation bar is in the way. That will be very easy for @ezraBC and Bilal to fix, though, just as soon as they've dealt with the spam
I would happily share the CSS I use to fix it, but the last time I shared some CSS nothing came of it.
@ObviouslyKrink
@RarelyCharlie - I am woefully inadequate at fielding this kind of support :(
