Guest 1-1 Chat Access Gone
Why were we not informed that we can no longer chat as guests? I'm really disappointed by the lack of transparency and that this update was snuck in with no announcement.
Aliases were discussed, why were these not implemented before the loss of access?
I don't even know when this occurred, I had checked it before but when I wasn't actually looking to chat - the appearances were all there. It's only when actually clicking to connect that then one has to sign in as a member to connect with a listener.

Listeners are now helping to evaluate the impact, and in my opinion it seems possible that access might be restored.
You're right, it's not obvious until you try to connect.

@RarelyCharlie We were told it would be coming, but neither of those updates gave a specific date as to when. The last one I couldn't tell what specifically was going to happen, so I asked. Laura responded and it sounded like it was just more about verifying member accounts, there was nothing in her response about losing guest options at that point in time.
I agree. It was never completely clear. At one point I thought there were going to be no guest accounts at all, so I was surprised to find I still had a guest account when I logged out.

@RarelyCharlie i cant seem to find the thread that was created asking people to give their input on the effects of no more guest accounts - is it helping ? (i forget the exact name of that thread but i cant find it anywhere and its also disappeared from my list on 'my threads') do you have a link to it was it moved or the name changed?

Some posts in that thread disappeared, and allegedly a listener was disappeared for saying the wrong thing, so maybe the whole thread disappeared for a while and came back.

Not impressed to see feedback is being collected from listeners and nothing has been done to collect feedback from those who actually tried to connect as guests.
@AffyAvo i seems that the general assumption of whoever made this decision is that guests are mostly trolls and if theyre not trolls prove it by registering like registering is the troll filter i think its a filter actually but just the opposite is true but right if they bothered to get feedback from the people using guest account and had actual information they would make better decisions based on facts and not assumptions or opinions from some listeners too bad the ability to chat instantly and anonymously without registering is what built up this website and if 7cups no longer provides the service thats obviously very much in demand some other website will and im sure very soon demand does not go too long without supply meeting it
