Night Mode or Alternate Color Schemes for Chat/Site Layout
Lots of complaints in chat about the brightness hurting eyes, people seeing floaters [keep in mind: there's people here with substance abuse issues/withdrawals], and the like. I prefer Night Mode in general, it helps a lot to stay focused. Any thoughts/threads/ideas on applying this to the site?

I'm going to tag @JaceofSpades who is tech savvy. I think there's ways to adjust things through Chrome maybe
In the meantime, I have two tools that you can use to create a night mode on your computer or phone!
f.lux is a great program that creates a warmer backlight (red, yellow, and orange instead of blue) for you. It's available for Windows, Mac, Linux, and iPhone/iPad!
twilight is the f.lux equivalent for Android phones

@AdVictoriam @JaceofSpades this is easily the coolest program i've seen in a while. thank you for the recommendation! if i see anyone in the chats complaining about screen brightness, i'll recommend them to check out the program/this post.
hopefully you can nudge the devs and get them to tweak the color schemes for group chat. the only other thing i can think of is having to highlight [every other] username to see who's talking as they appear white-on-white. does that show up for you guys?
side note: i'm using firefox.

Yes! They do show up like that. With the stylebot extension it helped to change the names black to see who's who.
@JaceofSpades okay, do you know if it's specifically a browser issue that causes it? i'll check for that extension.

I find it's the same on all browsers sadly since it's clearly the sites CSS interface (or whatever it's called :p)

There is one way where you can alter the CSS on the site to change the color to something more pleasing that you would like. However, you would need a Chrome web browser and the Stylebot extension.
The background, fonts and even colors in PM's and the rooms.
Along with what @AdVictoriam mentioned about f.lux and Twilight, I know you can find other programs and apps for both computer/laptop and phone devices.
I'm new here, but what helps me with the brightness with my phone's overall brightness is Twilight apps. Makes it a more reddish hue which really helps
Can't they reduce their device's brightness?

Heya! I see we' all got a similar struggle :') We could always suggest new ideas to @john7ux, the new UX designer to add a dark view mode!
