Survey for folks living in rural populations!

Does this only apply to residents in the US as per the pic you posted?

Lonely, no jobs, no mental or physical health support

I live in a rural area of the UK. I've been trying to move from this area for several years to make things better for myself but trying to find somewhere to rent is so difficult.

I live in a area that is populated with Cows and Corn and some Tractors very few neighbors around but it is nice and quiet the down side to this is that yes you do have to travel to get medical help, and even further to get Mental Help so we are limited . As someone who suffers with Agoraphobia this does make it even harder . I had a NP that was coming to home but they have now stopped that so I have to go back to my old doctor and ride an hour away and then an hour back and that is so hard when you have mental and physical health problems .

Some good things that would useful IF you have Insurance and if you can self Pay would be Doctor on Demand they have different doctors but our insurance does not cover this one also there is TeleDoc you sign up and then chat with someone who does your medical History and then they check and see if you insurance is accepted , ours was Thankfully !! I had let them know i needed some help with someone and within 30 mins I had a doctor on video and he talked to me and helped me out and called in my RX!! I was crying thanking him. He healed me right up !! Now they do not do anxiety meds etc.. some meds yes some no and if they feel its something serious then they will tell you to see another doctor or say you need to seek help now... Doctor on Demand they do have Mental Health Help but Teledoc does not.

@Laura @Kate Oof, I was so excited to see this! I grew up in a rural area, within the past few years ive moved to the city, but still alterate! One of my friends lives in a even more rural area, and talking with them about growing up there mixed with my own experiences.. id say the biggest issue for sure is mental health providers.. sadly my friend has to travel 45 minutes/a hour just to get to therapy! I did to before I moved here I think we really need to make sure rural areas have mental health providers available! BUT at the same time theres SO uch, SO SO SO much stigma in these rural farm towns, I cant even begin to explain..

My town is kinda shite tbh, so the difference between the town and the rural is really small... We don't have a proper hospital in my town, so we go to another town for emergencies (30-50minutes away from "town" on the new road, 30-60 minutes away from "rural" on the old road) traveling without a driver's license is the only thing I can think of... but we do have a few busses that reaches pretty far out from the town (5-30minutes walk + a 20-80minutes bus ride)
