7 Cups for Organizations Update

User Profile: GlenM

Soon any organization will be able to launch their own mini-7 Cups. Think about our current site as the mainland and these other versions as islands. Organizations will be able to launch their own support systems to support students if they are a college or university or their employees if they are a business. Anyone will be able to launch a free support system for their university or business. There will be an option to upgrade and that will unlock growth paths, provide access to reporting, branded pages and more.

YPOC - www.7cups.com/ypoc - is one example of a vertical. MIT also has a vertical on 7 Cups, but it is not publicly accessible. We hope to add thousands more in the coming months.

I could reach out to Netzer Olami which is a world wide youth group. I could also probably reach out to the JUF

@GlenM and @KrinkTheMellowUnicorn

I like this idea/direction. I think it will serve to benefit a lot of people.

I do have one question though:

What sort of research/information gathering will be/is being done on applicants to ensure that these organizations' values, missions, visions, etc. do not radically differ or conflict with those of 7 Cups?

Thank you for taking the time to consider my question smiley

@Pat - as we launch a free self-service signup for organizations, we'll review them as they come in , to make sure that none of them are inappropriate, and remove/moderate any that don't belong.

If the popularity of the feature reaches a certain scale we would then have to add a review/approval step to the onboarding.

I think this site would be so beneficial for University students who are usually on their own for the first time, away from home, having to meet deadlines and prepare for tests that are much harder than high school. So many students freak out their first semester and many become very depressed and lonely. I really think if they could find one or two listeners to relate two in the beginning of their first college year, I think that they would be able to cope better and at least not feel so isolated or alone.

Great idea!!!

It's wonderful lots of organisations that can't cope, can have excess for help through 7 cups. This will certainly benefit lots of people. I understand the need for 'vertical' set up cause every organisation has sensitive n private matters regarding their organisation which are confidential. But, I am a little curious though regarding 1. the matter of privacy/anonymous identity .When members of the vertical set up log on, do they also have anonymous identity like members in 7 cups? If The 'vertical ' is actually a small organisation, won't it be easy to guess someone's identity. I realised one strong quality and a successful factor indeed, of 7 cups, is the anonymous identity of its members and listeners. 2. the stigma of mental illness. Lets say, a large corporation sets up a 'vertical' for its employees. Then, if an employee discusses her/his mental issues with listeners , will this matter be shared with the administrators of the corporation? Will the listeners chosen by the corporation abide by the rules and oath like we do as a community in 7 cups?

Sounds exciting! I facilitate some recovery groups and wonder if that will be something I can add to our resources.

I look forward to learning more about it.

Thank you for this safe place!

Hi Glen and 7 Cups, this is a Listener (LossLinksJack) Jack on 7 Cups who just luckily happened to find out about this marvelous opportunity to make use of 7 Cups for my just born (but 17 years borne!) Social Enterprise, CARERS FOR HEALTH CARERS (CFHC). Its links:

[edited by Anomalia to remove social media / contact sharing]

I have tried numerous times to contact you via Facebook and here on 7 Cups leaving you messages but you either did not get them or have chosen not to respond to them. I wanted to speak with you directly about using your 7 Cups platform for CFHC and thus to my amazement and great relief I found you offer a no charge use of your miraculous 7 Cups! I now want to talk with you about the possibility of upgrading to your premium service, so I hope we can open up a direct email, skype or phone dialogue.

I immensely admire your achievement with 7 Cups and not wanting to re-invent the wheel I am very grateful for your generosity in making available free use of 7 Cups for CFHC.

Regards, Jack in Santiago, Chile

@LossLinksJack - Hi Jack, I'm glad that you've found 7 Cups so useful for your organization! Because we don't allow for offsite contact sharing here, I've removed the links and contact info from your post, but passed them directly onto Glen so that he or someone else can get in touch as needed.
