7 Cups Academy: Plan Ahead

Hi everyone, I hope you all are doing well. I have noticed that some users have interest in joining a 7 Cups Academy Program but not enough time to do it in the moment. In such a case it is preferable that they plan ahead. This knowledge seems to not be obvious so I wanted to address and encourage it to ensure that when you do join the program, you can graduate with ease.

What is plan ahead?

It means researching the program syllabus that you are interested in and doing the requirements that you can without enrolling in the course. This reduces your weekly course load when you do enroll.

If you do not have the requirement list for a certain program, please reach out to an academy mentor of the program and they will provide it to you. You can also work with them to plan ahead.

Things you can do before enrollment

Get any badges that the program requires (this excludes coursework badges/badges you get for participating in forum posts, discussions, you can not participate in those posts before enrollment. It will not count and you will be asked to repeat). Badges you can get are:

Participation badges in group rooms (i.e, the program requires Tiny chat/sparkler badge)

Training Course Badges (for completing certain training guides)

Referral clicks (applicable to Internship)

If you are unsure, what you can or can not do in advance for a program. Please reach out to an academy mentor focusing on that program to discuss your options.

Benefits of Plan Ahead

You develop a good understanding of the program requirements and where your time will be invested

You can better estimate when to take the program

You reduce your course load for when you do take the program.

You set yourself up for success

Attention! It is your obligation to evaluate your own time before you apply for the program. From your acceptance to your graduation, on each step, there are people who dedicate time and energy to ensure that you get the support needed. Applying for a program and dropping out in the middle wastes our resources and it is not an encouraged practice.

At times life happens and you need to drop out and that is okay. But if you have an upcoming exam, a big life commitment or you know you are too involved in other site activities to dedicate time then it is not a good idea to apply. We provide this free opportunity for you to gain skills and certifications and all we ask is that you honor the time and energy of all academy leaders and understand that when you apply for a program, you are making a commitment to complete it.

So do not apply for a program unless you have the following:

You meet the requirements specified for the program

You have the time for the whole duration of the program

You understand what the program is about and what is expected of you.

You intend to complete the program

Above I mentioned that when interested in a program, you can reach out to an academy mentor. You can find mentors as below:

7 Cups Internship

Building Community

Content Development and Marketing Program

Group Leadership & Development Program

Leadership Development Program

Quality Leadership Program
