Hi everyone! I hope you are well. I am starting this thread to share thoughts/ideas/quotes that I find to be thought-provoking. I have been listening to audio books and trying to expand my understanding and my approach toward life. In doing so, I come across at times valuable advice, either times words that can be of benefit to people.

This by no means guarantees that you will like the same set of words/quotes/books as I do. Therefore I request all readers to subscribe if this interests you/aligns with your goals and ignore if the thoughts shared here are not in alignment with how you approach life.

People who come across this thread are welcome to weigh in and add their two cents on the reflections. Or you can silent lurkers, its up to you.

I have been listening to the audiobook 'How to Stop Worrying and Start Living' by Dale Carnegie. It's available on YouTube. This is my second time going through the book because it's that valuable. I recommend an audiobook over the actual book to avoid eye strain as it is a long book.

A few words mentioned in the book that have stuck with me are 'It is so as it can't be otherwise' words that encourage acceptance of fate. The unpleasant things in our life that we can't change, are so because they can't be otherwise!

Thought of the day

“There are as many nights as days, and the one is just as long as the other in the year’s course. Even a happy life cannot be without a measure of darkness, and the word ‘happy’ would lose its meaning if it were not balanced by sadness.”- Carl Jung

If you find yourself wandering through a never-ending night, it is inevitable that the sun will shine. That is how the world works.

Hi lurkers! I hope the week has been good so far.

A few lines from one of my favourite books, 'How to Stop Worrying and Start Living' by Dale Cargenie.

“How strange it is, our little procession of life,” wrote Dale Carnegie “The child says, ‘When I am a big boy.’ But what is that? The big boy says: ‘When I grow up.’ And then, grown up, he says: ‘When I get married.’ But to be married, what is that after all? The thought changes to ‘When I am able to retire.’ And then, when retirement comes, he looks back over the landscape traversed; a cold wind seems to sweep over it; somehow he has missed it all, and it is gone. Life, we learn too late, is in the living, in the tissue of every day and hour.”

Gentle reminder to live immediately!

Hi everyone! I hope your weekend went well and you got some well-needed rest in. Sharing a quote that really grabbed my attention today.

"Inaction breeds doubt and fear. Action breeds confidence and courage. If you want to conquer fear, do not sit at home and think about it. Go out and get busy." - Dale Carnegie

Btw any book written by Dale Carnegie is generally a good book. If you are looking for your next self help book, do consider one of his!

@Hope I love this one, thanks for sharing. I often find that inaction can sometimes cause lack of confidence, self doubt, indecision, second guessing, all which mean sometimes great opportunities are passed by.

Hi! Sharing one of my favourite quotes

“Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day. You shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.”

― Ralph Waldo Emerson
