July 2023 Community Update!

Dear Community,

I hope all is well! I’ll keep this brief as we have a flurry of posts coming and some major announcements. A big thanks to @Cheerymango, @Hope, @ASilentObserver, and @heather225 and everyone else for being so thoughtful in our birthday preparation

We are fast approaching the ten-year anniversary of 7 Cups existence—what an exciting milestone! I hope you all take part in the many activities we have planned (read on through this post to learn about the various events going on in each domain!).

As we grow, we want to continue to do great things with you by involving you, as contributors and leaders, and keep driving the 7 Cups mission through collaboration. Every quarter we roll out a survey to assess quality, morale, and overall satisfaction, and identify improvement opportunities. We’d love to hear your thoughts.

A community reminder: We have discontinued acceptance of screenshots through third party sites, and sharing of external links to those sites. To clarify, when we say screenshots, we mean those that are taken on the 7 Cups platform and uploaded elsewhere. This means that if you need to share a screenshot to please do so directly from your device, and email it to the respective admin, or to the community@7cups.com inbox with reports. Here’s the new process introduced in April for how to report! Please help us out by letting other users know if you see screenshots being shared from other hosting sites (e.g. imgur, gyazo, etc.) for the safety of our community. Thank you, lovelies!

For the past month, we have been focused on the maintenance of existing initiatives and working on team building and leadership support within the academy teams. Additionally, we updated one of the leadership development course posts to include an updated quiz that better suits the need of our trainees. We also reviewed internship internal forms to ensure they are up to date, @yourbuddy30 took the lead on that.

An additional focus of the month has been planning our 10th birthday with the community team! We are so excited for you to see all the planned items and can’t wait to celebrate this huge milestone together with you.

Lastly, it is peak summer for most of us, we discussed summer plans with the teens here and the academy leadership team also had a get-together of their own to speak on the hot topic aka summer!

Happy 10th, 7 Cups! You’re all amazing!!

On Group Support front, we are making progress on Member Discussions 2.0 and @ASilentBunny helping me to strengthen it further. While @audienta going above and beyond in their efforts to revive and bring more support in the Trauma Community.

In Listener Group Chats front, @SirenofSerenity & @EmmaE team working on bringing chat support discussions and other exciting & informative discussions to attend. These discussions will promote learning and support and help us get more equipped to support our listeners.

Also, we introduced Community Moderator of the Month program. Credits to @VictoriaLove7 for their efforts in structuring it. The goal is to recognize and appreciate our community moderators for their support and presence in the community. If you didn’t nominate them yet, nominate here!

On leadership front, many joined Group Chat team to support the community in various roles like Room Supporter, Moderator, Chatroom Mentor etc. While, SirenofSerenity joined us as Chatroom Ambassador for Discussions track.

We have some great highlights from our teams this month!

Care Team: Received 2 new Guides and have an Adult PA is soon to start trialing. They had a forum AMA team check-ins.

Anonymous Evals: They are determining new potential futures for the team and are expanding the teen side. @Tabby97 and @Beck1 did their first Teen AMA to spread awareness!

Listener Coaching Team: 2 listener coaches completed their training and officially became listener coaches (congrats Daf and Damon!). They held 2 team meetings, created a refresher quiz and appreciated listener coaches and the coachees for their hard work!

Active Listening: AL team is doing great on the outreach front! They have been hosting AMA sessions for both the adult and teen side, with the first teen session held June 28th.

SPOT: Scaling the team with a push for Outreach (40 goal) and updating processes within the team for better grading and communication!

Also a very merry congrats to @Beck1 and @annasilverberg who have become Mentor Leaders to assist with special projects.

This month, the community got to help test the upcoming Chat 2.0 system with key features allowing the chat experience to be more stable and useful. While we all transition to this upgraded system, you can read about key features here and try it out by clicking the “Try Chat 2.0” button on chat pages. We appreciate the feedback received so far.

This month, the content focus helped to continue growth in our latest new communities. We launched a call for new community leaders and will be aligning these content projects with our community leadership structure. Some new community based content series which are emerging include Picture Prompts for Poetry, as well as other prompts that inspire creative expression.

Our Q&A team has approved all our community submitted answers to our Q&A page! Starting July, we will be approving submitted questions as well to keep our Q&A section fresh.

We have made headway with the forum restructuring and have completed about 80% of the communities such as. We are going to continue working on the remainder of the communities in the coming weeks.

A friendly reminder for all forum supporters, community mentor and community mentor leaders are asked to fill out the Subcommunity Leadership Check-In Form for the month of June so we can keep updated on what’s going on in your team and roles and see how we can offer our assistance.
