"New" label

I think it would be beneficial to add a "New" label or badge(or something like that) next to newly joined listeners or even new members. This would be great to have especially so we can welcome them to the community.

let me know what you think

@heathermarie95

Where should this label show up, Heather?

In chatrooms, we already see a green color "newbie" badge next to the username of listeners and members, indicating they've been here for less than a month!

You can find all the listeners with newbie badge here: https://www.7cups.com/BrowseListeners/?badge=57

We had a list of new members on our dash, I wonder if they removed that or I just can't seem to find it post the update! It was somewhere in the main dashboard, I think!

A rather tedious task, but if you're willing to make the effort, you can also browse through profiles looking at the date someone joined 7 cups!

it would more so be next to their name. ive noticed some listeners have “newbie” but have been a listener for some bit. itll be something that could be there for those who have joined within a certain time period (a month or so)

Heya @heathermarie95

There are two places where "Newbie" might be mentioned on a listener's profile.

One, on their "experience level" or whatever you call that, the label based on how many cheers one has.

The very first level of that, from cheers 0-790 is the Newbie level. Now this doesn't tell you how long they've been here, but rather, how much they have done in that time.

You can also see a Newbie badge among their badges. This means they have been a user for less than a month. This automatically disappears when they have spent a month here and does indicate that they're a new listener based on time that they have been here.

This newbie badge also shows up in chatrooms as @Sunisshiningandsoareyou has already mentioned.

You can also see a list of new members on the listener dashboard (I'm not sure if members can see it) in the right hand side column right above "Active Listeners". It's a collapsable list with the gift box icon and the name "Welcome new members".

Hope this helps clear up any confusion!

Thanks for thinking of our newbies!

The new profile rollover (hover over the person's name) which will give this info in a way. The points you can see help you very quickly spot if they are newer (less than 200 points) or older/experienced. Note: this rollover feature works best on a computer but we're hearing it's helpful so far. Please let me know if you've got feedback!
