We are excited to announce an update to our therapy services! We received feedback that members wanted to be able to select their therapist. Presently, therapists and members are matched up via Sophia. WIth this update, a member will be able to select a therapist they want to work with and reach out to them directly.

There is one important difference in pricing with these two options. The pricing is the same, however if you personally select a therapist you will not be offered the free three day trial.

1) Matched via Sophia ------> 3 Free Day trial

2) Personally select a therapist that you believe will be a good fit for you ------> No free trial

For those of you interested in this new option, you can spearch for a therpist here.

You should be able to have a therapist at no cost

@straightforwardCucumber5763 - At 7 Cups you can get a volunteer trained active listener at no cost, at any time.

For therapy (from a credentialed professional expert) costs the fee discussed above.

How lovely, now anyone can contact Myself or the other Therapists with their personal preference. It's a very cool feature for people wanting Therapy with a specific Therapist, and great for us Therapists as we can have a direct link to people wanting professional support. Can't wait to help, meet and start supporting more people! <3 *Therapist Hugs for all!* <3

I just joined and I have a question. How safe are the things we let out here?

@KhaLedrxx its pretty secure, I mean not only is there a confidentiality contract in place, but you also have the option of deleting your message history.

I guess the member seeking the therapists help would need to be sure whose services they actually seek. Especially if there is no free trial. The free trial is good if you have never had therapy before.

@SisterHaleemaCounselor
But when we can select directly, we can select one that we already seen interact in public areas, or even already interacted with.
I see some therapists who interact in public places (here in forums, but also on the chatrooms and others).
See them interact with others or even interact directly with them in public places, and can pick them directly from those places, is a lot better than a 3 days trial, I think.
For sure, it's how I plan choose one when there will be more choices of therapists who speak my language. and I consider that much more interesting for me than getting one randomly with a 3 days trial.

I'm really excited about this feature, it means that everyone can have someone whom they prefer, whose style they like, whose availability they like, and it's like a "custom experience" for people seeking help. It's really good for them to be able to do that, if they find the idea of being randomly matched a little . And it means no time is gone to waste. It's such a great idea and innovative feature for people who may get to "Know" a therapist elsewhere on the site, and they can get to know each other more and if the member wants, go straight into therapy with that particular therapist. How brilliant is that for people in need who want personal preference! :)

@CalmCoach yes it's a lot better! mainly when you speak other languages than english or are in a country where laws are different or stricter than in the USA. Or you need to see how they interact with members before to take this engagement. so you can pick one from forums or chatrooms, etc.
