January 10: Ability to choose your own therapist!
We are excited to announce an update to our therapy services! We received feedback that members wanted to be able to select their therapist. Presently, therapists and members are matched up via Sophia. WIth this update, a member will be able to select a therapist they want to work with and reach out to them directly.
There is one important difference in pricing with these two options. The pricing is the same, however if you personally select a therapist you will not be offered the free three day trial.
1) Matched via Sophia ------> 3 Free Day trial
2) Personally select a therapist that you believe will be a good fit for you ------> No free trial
For those of you interested in this new option, you can spearch for a therpist here.
YEAH!!!!
now i have to find those who speak french !
@TortueDesBois
It's on the "to do" list to add a language filter in the search.
I know that's something you had requested in the past. We haven't forgotten!
@LaraG I'm sure it is. I just need be more patient. haha
@Laura
when i go on their profile and click on the button, my infos are not asked. it opens a private chat with their name on top, but there is sophia bot instead, who is talking, that is confusing.
is that how it's supposed to work ? have to talk to sophia before to be redirected to the specific one i selected after i enter my credit card infos? I did not enter them yet, so dont know how it goes after it. i am just wondering.
I am planning use it in the future when there will be some therapists allowed to practice therapy in my province and who speak my language, so I am curious.
@TortueDesBois - yes, sophia needs to gather some information either way
@Laura - Is there a different way we refer members if they want to select their own therapist?
@KNikolas under "Chat" they have the menu "Find a Therapist Near You", it directs on this page: https://www.7cups.com/therapists/
-SELECT THERAPIST-
If a person decides to use the 'Select your own Therapist' option... will they still be able to Switch therapists, if they are dis-satisfied, or not compatible ?
@ChromeLotus It appears so. The signup info with Sophia mentions being able to switch.
i like that ida
I think this is a great step forwards for our therapy services, but I echo what Affy has said above - it's important that we are SUPER clear about the pricing and billing to avoid people feeling misled. Perhaps phrasing as $150 a month - that's just $5 a day! would help, vs. pushing the $5/day wording without the accompanying clarity that it's $150 per month in actual billing.
Really excited that our members will now have the opportunity to search for the therapist that provides the best fit for them! :)
@Anomalia
I agree with you. When i was in sales, we gave the huge price first then broke it down by day! It's the best way to maintain that someone knows what they're getting into and doesn't get upset
I would've preferred the announcement of a Guarantee. That anyone who isn't satisfied with the Service, is entitled to a prompt & courteous Refund, during the 1st Week of Therapy. If 7 Cups has confidence in what they're providing, back it up in writing!
@Laura
I have a question, if a member has already subscribed for therapy before the elected service came in place, and that member is not comfortable with their therapist which has been selected for them, are they able to change their therapist and select their own, Or, are they committed to the selected therapist until that monthly subscription has ran out?
This is something I have been asked, so I would appreciate a speedy response please🙂
Thanks!
@professionalPerspective60 - a client may request to switch to a new therapist-- @laraG can say when this is allowed (trial only or any time during the month). Right now Sophia matches you again but soon we will enable people to choose from available therapists when switching
@KrinkTheMellowUnicorn
Thanks for your response Krink!
So, do I relay to this back to this person and advise them to contact Lara direct to confirm if they are able to change their therapist half way through there first month subscription? However the system would match them again with another therapist? As they are still unable to select themselves?
@professionalPerspective60 - correct. we are about a day or so out from launching the direct switching option
@KrinkTheMellowUnicorn
Ahh, okay, that's helpful to know. Thanks☺
@professionalPerspective60
Once you buy a mambership you have that mambership for a year i think
I think this is a good step forward and I'm happy that you took into account our feedback. However, as others have said, I also believe the pricing needs to be made clearer. You could say "$150 a month / $5 a day" then make the same comparison for the in office counselling. I got a bit confused at first though with the comparison; I thought you guys offered in office counselling! It needs to be clearer that that's a comparison to avoid any confusion.
Making the prices clearer will lead to better communication, happier users hopefully and less people requesting refunds! I don't think you can refuse refunds right now when price transparency is so poor.
@SilentSerenityy - good feedback, thanks!
Sorry am still crowling in this app, how can i get a therapist?
@Mimo906 - the app does not yet have the direct therapy request feature yet
@KrinkTheMellowUnicorn thank you❤
@Mimo906
Go to www.7cups.com - there you will find the 'button' to sign up for fee based therapy or - to connect with a free 'listener'
@loyalChestnut5609 thank you❤
