January 26: Updated Android App Release!
We are thrilled to announce that the latest version of the 7 Cups android app will be released tonight! woohoo!!
@Krinkthemellowunicorn will follow up shortly with more information about the updated app and what is new!

I am not sure if this is happening only with me or everyone...the time stamp attached with every message is according to EST and then when you reply...it shows your time in the message. Earlier it wasn't like that..with our time zone attached to the messages its easy to track when the member messaged you and all.
@picturesque03afterthought - it's not just you. it's a bug and we'll fix it.
the problem is old messages coming from the server are not having their time localized.
new messages should be right.

Some folks are having trouble logging in.
From talking to one person it seems that they have the new (2.5.2) app but the stll have the old left drawer (with a login button in it) and no right drawer.
Right now I'm seeing if deleting the cache or reinstalling correctly updates the contents.
I'll keep you posted in case anyone has this problem.
OK, we found a problem. If your Android version is less than 4.4 then this version won't work (the drawers don't open, other problems).
@ezraBC is working on a fix and we'll see if we can get it out tonight.
Ok, the fix is in place and 2.5.5 is going into the playstore.

@BeanieNacho - thanks. I had that today too. We'll figure it out.
One thing I thought when I noticed was "I'd rather have it be red and actually working than the other way around." :)
It may mean your connection was offline recently or it has been going on and off.

The app looks great! I downloaded it last night and people could occasionally see me shouting exitedly in the LSR when I had found a new cool thing I could now do with the app :) I'm sure I'll find more in the days to come!
I like that you know can choose whether you want the forum categories or the old new/popular categories, as well as the easy switching between listener/member threads.
Also a great improvement is opening links in-app, as was the case on a previous version but then you couldn't get back to the app again, works smoothly now.
Love the pop-up listener profiles (especially since I now don't automatically get sent to my browser three times while scrolling through the chat :P), they look amazing. I miss the country flags though. Browse Listeners also looks very fancy.
Some of the most notable improvements are the fact that the app is now only <10% of the size of the previous versions (yay!) and the fact that my keyboard doesn't disappear on me every five seconds (double yay!). Also, even when I use an incredibly slow internet connection (one I had this afternoon speedtested as 0.01 MB/s) it is really fast, there's no noticable difference between that and a much faster internet connection
Question though: how many chats will fit in Recent Conversations, so after what number will some conversations automatically be removed from there? And will there be an option to delete conversations from that list in the future?
Problems: when switching back from side windows to group support it tends to come in not at the latest message, but sometimes several dozen up. Also, occasionally time stamps will show messages in GMT+0 in stead of my time zone (GMT+1)

Right now, it's up to 5 in each category (1-on-1 & Group), I believe.
And will there be an option to delete conversations from that list in the future?
I think if you hit the little (x) in the left drawer the conversation will "close" (its window in the app, currently offscreen will close) and it will be removed from the list. If a chat is on the list still but not "open" in that sense it may not work that way.
Recent is something I wanted to add for a while and @ezraBC obliged me by building it for this release, but it's definitely "version 1" of that feature so far and we are open to suggestions. For example, there could be an (x) on that screen to remove chats from the list.

Yes, we have a fix for that in the works.

@KrinkTheMellowUnicorn if you are in a group support room and go to Recent Conversations, there will be an x there you can click. When you do, it sends you to the next room on the list, but when you go back to RC the room you tried to remove is still on there.
Also, is there an option to search the forum? Because if there is, I haven't found it yet
@Liz1000 - that (x) closes your active connection to the room but does not (yet) remove it from your list. i thinkit also may remove it from your recents.

Is anyone experiencing sluggishness, slowness, or a lag with the new version? If yes can you please tell us exactly where and how it is lagging? Thank you!

yes it is EXTREMELLY laggy. It lags whenever i open or try to open a new tab. The chat works relatively fine though i think sometimes it shows the text too slowly. Additionally i must always use enter to submit my text i cant click on the arrow, that doesnt do anything.
Otherwise it is overall laggy and slow. Whenever i try to open a new chat i need to wait forever. Also sometimes it doesnr even notify me of new messages when im in a chat already.
If i click on the notification then nothing happens it just opens the app ,doesnt brings me to the chat.
I tried searching for listeners as well that was super slow.
I like the layout but its so slow and annoyingly laggy that the app is still neaely useless in my opinion. It may be good to chat with 1 person or to use it as a notifier when not paying constant attention to the browser but for a long term use ...nope.
@LittleLonelyKitten - sorry the app is so sluggish for you. We'd like to figure out what the problem is.
Can you tell me the type of phone or device you are using, and the version of the operation system (OS), as well as the version of our app you have installed?

I dont know if this is the right place to put this but i just started using this app today, and ive posted to a couple of the forums. Earlier i had no problem going back and viewing my posts but now i cant see any of them! Did i do something wrong? Did they get deleted?
@onepaneofglass - we can check. the forum sometimes triggers spam prevention if a new account makes a large number of posts in a short time.
please open a support ticket or PM me to follow up. I'm in a car right now and don't have my laptop in front of me.
