July 24: New Chat Application - Only on The App & Still Beta
Hello 7 Cups App Users!
This weekend we are going to launch a fancy new feature! But, this feature is still in beta & we need your help to test it. It will be available ONLY on the app! Everyone is welcome to give it a whirl. Here is how it will work!
What will this feature do?
This feature will allow you navigate between varying conversations and chatrooms much faster. It will give you the ability to easily have more than one conversation going at once. (I have tested it, it is very slick).
At the top of the app, you see a bar with up to 5 of your most recent conversations. The conversations will be indicated with your user picture or the chatroom initials. Only 5 will be listed at one time. Once you hit 6, the 6th will drop back to your regular conversation list.
You will be alerted on this top bar when one of your chats has a new message for you to view. Screenshot here!
You will be able to click through to these conversations very easily from this top bar.

How can I turn it on?
In your account settings, you will need to turn this feature on. If you do not turn it on, you will not be able to participate. If you don't like it, you can turn it off at any time.
Should I expect bugs?
Yup, this is brand new!
Where can I report bugs? And give feedback?
Great, we'd love for you to tell us what is working & not working, so we can continue to get it right. Please use this form to file bug reports specifically related to this feature. Remember, if you don't love yet, you can turn it off and go right back to the original app!

Exciting, testing it out! It's not fully functional for me just yet, but it's working enough for me to see that it's going to be awesome when it's up and running! Bug report filed, thanks to the whole team for your awesome work on this!
It's been extremely glitchy for me unfortunately and filed the bug report, but after a few initial attempts, I'm able to see the bar with the recent conversations at the top! Like Mikey said above me, it's not fully functional yet (it won't let me go on any other chats) but it's working just that little bit which is enough that I know it'll be AMAZING! I can't wait until this fully works without any bugs, thank you so much to the team behind this and all you do for us! You rock ❤

It sounds like you might have hit some conditional bug that isn't allowing you to switch on the active conversation bar, and no one on the team has hit this yet in testing; this is the reason we have to let a larger group test new features after all.
We really do feel this will be chat app will be a game changer, making the application both more fun to use and more useful for listeners who have multiple conversations going. Just hang in there! Once all the bugs are chased down, and the features are implemented, this will really have the potential to help the entire community.
@ezraBC ah, so you're the awesome Ezra I've heard about and admired! I just want to say a huge huge thank you for everything you're doing for this community, and for the endless patience you have while people may be making complaints. Especially with this new feature, it may not be fully ready, it may not work for a majority, but you're still doing your best to power through that and make it the best possible. If that's not wonderful, then what is? In honesty, I already love it, I do, because you all put so much hard work, effort and time into it and it's seeming fantastic. I can't wait until it's finished, because I know for certain that this will help me (along with many others) greatly. Thank you so so much ❤
I can't see any of my previous chats now. I don't know why. I did not enable the beta feature either.

I think that is actually an unrelated bug, because I know of a few other listeners who've had that problem over the fast few days. Make sure to fill in a support ticket though, so that it is known of and fixed!

You were not kidding when you said it was fast! I've managed to get it more or less working now and it's great. Once you have conversations loaded, when you hop between them, each conversation appears in a split second, no little circles spinning around, no load time, just a quick flick from chat to chat. Still some bugs (I'll file a second report), but the functionality of it is really impressive, congratulations!
Giving this a go, because, why not?
Currently have it activated on my account. I haven't had a chance to use this yet since I usually don't use the app too much on my phone to engage in multiple conversations due to how slow it was before, but hopefully this will change that!
i don't see anything different! help!
Try taking more than 1 1:1, and you should see a "+" in the top left. If you "participate" in more than 1 group room (participate means type a message), then it will be counted as well. Your last 5 active conversations will be indicated in that top bar, with counters for unread messages on the 1:1's. Further, switching between conversations/rooms that are already open should be instant.
@ezraBC -- I don't know if everyone knows, but (at least on the iPhone), if you shut down the app (i.e., exit out of it), then you have to re-check mark the option and save the change again. Otherwise it reverts to the old version of the app. That may be why people don't always see the change.
I can't use the chat
Its fast, yes...but it's not letting me scroll down to the current messages. When I disabled the beta option, it worked fine. Anyone else facing the same problem?

Yes I did.
Doesnt seem to turn on. I will save it in the setting but when i go back to setting it disappears. No change.
