May 20: New Version of the App for Android!

We are excited to announce app updates!
The updated android app is available for download. iPhone app will be available soon!
Here is what's new:

@Irishrose2016 - at the moment there are not but we can consider it if there is enough demand.
we also need to make the mobile view of the website a lot better...

@Laura Ok, so you know the way there are the three lines on the top left of the app and when you click them you go into : "community" and "what's new". Whenever I swipe left to open those options, the bar from the right pops up with the " sign out " "account settings " ect and laggs that I have to wait for a few second for it to unglitch or scroll or click it a few times or swipe. :(
Then also I dont get notifications all the time when I get a message or get tagged or something- it only loads like barely. Like I didn't even know I was tagged in this I had to physically check.
The font is big but I guess its ok. .the style is kinda ok. Where will it appear if I get a personal request? :)

one issue is notifications may have gotten broken somehow
currently to get to browse listeners hit the magnifying glass in the chat screen... we'll determine if we need to provide a better way to do that.

@Ghost0fNightmares - the new version has the magnifying glass for eveyrone and has browse/search listener links in the left-side navigation drawer.
@Ghost0fNightmares - personal requests should be the same.
@Laura and the browse listener option .. I've seen a few members complain they can't see it. I can't either... :(
This updated version is so confusing. The fonts are so big that I feel like my eyes balls are gonna pop out. I can't see the "browse listener" option and how will I know when I get personal request? The previous version was better.
@Curveyourlipsintosmile - the fonts may be too big on android. I'll check today. We may have to let folks adjust them as we have had a lot of complaints about type too small in the past.
Right now you get to browse listeners from the magnifying glass at top-right while on the Chat side. We are considering if we need a better way to do that

The fonts are so big that it is taking lot of space and it isn't really looking good and about the browsing listener, there isn't search space available at the top right corner when I'm using my listener account. Its visible when I'm logging in on my member account.
Other than this, in previous version, we had a space to see all our details about chats, cheers and all which is not in this updated version.

How do I send the screenshot? There's this icon of image but when I click on it it asks me URL which I don't understand.
I noticed one more thing. I received a message and because of the dark colour I couldn't see and there wasn't any sign like it was before in previous version. So its hard to even know when you get message as well. Is there any way I can get the previous version?
@Curveyourlipsintosmile - you can upload images to hosting sites like imgur.com and then use the direct link they give you here to share a screen.
the unread messages are a different color but it's not different enough, clearly. We will tweak the design till we get it right.
I don't know if hte Play Store lets you roll back to the previous version.

At first the font might seem way too big but many people were complaining it isn't visible last time. I am sure the app will get better and better, so let's give it time & provide constructive feedback so that our developers can work from there.

Should we expect bugs to arise & can you bring here the form for sending bugs about the app or do we use the regular support tickets?
@cristiana33 - for now people can post bugs (yes, we expect them and know of some) and major issues with the design. after a while we will ask folks to just submit support tickets, once we've tamed the major issues.

The new font is indeed much bigger, however it does appear to make me less inclined to hold my phone two inches from my face so maybe that's a good thing :P it does indeed, however, decrease the amount of text that can fit on 1 page in chats. Also, not sure if anyone mentioned this as something to improve of before, but we can't copy messages in chats. that's not new but still not convenient considering links to resources, for example, that are provided in one chat and need to be shared in another. Also the chat and path buttons at the bottom of the page have a different position every time, yet never a right one. (sorry about the bad colors and visibility in the last pic).

@Liz1000 - yes to all. the tradeoff is space for sure, and it bugs me we can't copy text. we fixed that once but lost it somewhere again...

Hi - I'm not sure if this is a feedback thread or if feedback would be best left on the Google Play Store for the 7cups app, but here goes.
Can you fix the buttons at the bottom of the screen? They are too big and need to be fitted better. I don't even know what the second one is, but I think it's my progress path.
But all in all, besides the typical issues (lag, notifications/messages not showing, etc) I know y'all are working hard to fix, this has been a great update and it makes me excited to know that I'll be able to rely on the app a bit more now to provide quality support for my members.

Hi I have only just downloaded the app. I really like it so far, but I would love it of there were more options to 'search listeners'.
For me it would be nice if there were more precise age categories (not just - 18 or +18) and maybe a gender option so I could talk to people similar to myself when I feel like I need that. Nevertheless, I understand if the developers do not want to this.
What I want even more is the option to select more than one category, because my issues are often interconnected and it would be lovely to talk to listener who is already prepared to talk about all of them

The age categories are something very new introduced, we didn't have it before a few months ago. :) It may be possible the two aren't enough but that doesn't really have anything to do with the new version of the app but with the whole site.
About including genders -
I don't think this is something 7 Cups is planning on doing, simply because there would be way to many to include. There aren't only male and female, as we are a global community, LGBTQ+ friendly. But you can for sure include your suggestion to our suggestion box.

@Phara - we do have more adult age groups (under and over 35) but we might not be offering that correctly in the app.
