Nov 10: Updated Android App is Now Live! WooHoo
The new version of the Android app is now available in the google play store! This version will mimic the updated site design and increase functionality for all users. It is also much more stable than the old version.
If you are an android person, please download the new version and provide us with feedback here in this form!

chats disappearing. not loading or not reacting. it's either my stupidity . my phone or something wrong with the app. i'm not sure^^

It's so great that 7cups has an app! That way everything will be easier and listeners will be able to help whenever they are! That sounds really awesome!!!
app isn't working. its really slow. and gets completely blank now and then. chats disappearing...frustrating...
@Shallan - thanks for the report. Are these problems still persisting for you (we have fixed a bunch of bugs...)

I have not been able to use the app since the latest update (both my mobile phone and tablet are androids). After logging in, I am taken to a blank blue screen with the white navigation bar (with the buttons) at the bottom. When I touch one on the buttons (feed/chat/path/ect) I am redirected to a new page but the page either has solid black patches covering the page or loads correctly for a moment and then becomes a blank white screen.
@Julie22 - wow, this is the first I've heard of this!
Please let me know if this is still the case and then also please make sure you have version 2.0.3 of our app, and let me know what the Android versions are on your devices and what types of devices they are, please!

I like the addition of the feed, but it is not MY feed. These are not the people that I follow. There are random people in my feed. That sometimes happens in my website feed as well. I also don't get notifications on the new app. (The bell is gone, or I just haven't found it yet). Additionally, sometimes the pages go white (or blank) after briefly loading, and they never come back. I do like the fact that the new app also includes the ability to use the growth path too. I think it's more user friendly but there seem to be a few bugs that still need to be worked out for it to get a 5-star rating.
@ALifeLessOrdinary the new app doesn't have notifications yet I believe they want to add that soon, also, can you see if the posts from people you follow have been reposted by 7Cups? because any post created or reposted by the 7Cups feed is seen by everyone

They are from people I don't follow. At the top when I put my mouse over the person's name it, says I'm not following them. There was someone called nosau I think that was in my feed last weekend, posting music videos. I don't follow this person so I have no idea why his videos were in my feed!
My other issue is with privacy. I've made my account private but I can log out and see my posts... that is not private. People can request to follow me, but I am now not allowed to see who my own followers are (when I'm logged in) since making my account private. So my account is private from ME, but from no one else... I am mentioning this because from your question, it would seem you are affiliated with the tech support part of this site???

It is normal to see those posts appear on your feed if they were reposted by the seven cups feed.
Concerning the private feed, you can still see your followers and who you are following here: https://www.7cups.com/listener/feed.php by clicking on "Support Network"I'm not sure about people not seeing your posts, I believe setting it to private is only meant to hide your followers and following to others. Maybe @KrinkTheMellowUnicorn can shine some light on this
@ALifeLessOrdinary, Ace is correct that the private option just keeps who you are following and who is following you private. It does not hide your posts as we do not wish to host hidden content. (This decision was made in consultation with the community when we were designing and testing the feed feature.)
You should be able to see your own support network and if it is not loading that is a bug. Also, no one can follow you without your permission if your feed is private.

Now that I know that my privacy is not protected, and that anybody on this site, or not even logged in can read my posts, it makes me not want to use it anymore. I brought this issue up last week and was told I could protect my posts by making my account private. Now you're telling me a decision was made not to allow private accounts. So here I thought I found a great self-help site, where I could do a lot of deep work, and get to know people, but that isn't actually the case. I can only connect to trained listeners who are often 25 years younger than me and have no practical life experience, so they only parrot back what I say... I can't message members that I interact with on the game threads.. I can't participate in the group chats because I find them stressful... So all I have is my feed, which I like to be open and honest on, and now because of the site's decision, I can't do that anymore. that's just lovely. Way to make people feel safe, @7cupsoftea

Following someone means that their posts will appear automatically in your feed.

That is your right, of course, but please bear in mind that your privacy is protected by your use of a pseudonym on the site and the site rules against exchanging personal information.

I'm afraid I'm still not quite sure what it is about the feed that feels unsafe to you, but I don't question your perception of it. (I simply don't quite understand it.)
I am much older than most of the listeners here as well. We have a long road ahead to build a viable community among the older age cohorts. The frustrations you raise are significant and I'm sorry that we are not meeting your needs at this time.

the app definitely has some bugs. We are working on adding the notifications (equivalent of the bell), and we know some pages sometime don't load or hang. We are working on these things and won't ask for that 5 star review till we nail it :D

This update is freaking amazing. The app was not that great in all honesty before but now it is so useful and quick and not as slow and annoying as it was before. Good work 7cups team!!!!

The app is really terrible I can't even access my PM's or group support chats anymore at all when I click on it :( I have tried everything you told me to do in the previous thread still it didn't work :( What can I do now?

Why can I not pot a pic or a complaint they, the thread box is blank. I cannot see my words typing...then I can't get it to actually appear on the note
and I haven't been able to go on or participate in my forum groups

we don't host images, so you can't upload any in the app.
there is a bug that sometimes makes the text in the forum post box look blank. We will get to that as soon as we can.
