Final project

@mari23 - it sounds like you're feeling pretty overwhelmed by the hugeness of the task. What often helps me is to break things like this down into smaller and more manageable pieces. Rather than thinking about everything that has to get done by August 1, what do you think you need to get done this week to be on track? And to get to there, what do you think you need to do today to be on track? I'm sure that piece is much smaller and is definitely something you can accomplish, and you can worry about tomorrow's tasks tomorrow. Hope that helps, and good luck with the project!

Hi Mari, there are two things that tend to help here:

The first is to break it down into the smallest possible subtasks, and then methodically tick them off. For example, there was a point where my subtasks included "open laptop" and "open document I'm writing in". The idea behind these is to make each individual task easy, which in turn lets you build up some momentum to get through the slightly harder subtasks.

The second is to give yourself permission to do a bad job. Sounds crazy, right? You need to get a good grade on this project. But right now when you're worrying about your grade, you're not getting *anything* done on it. By giving yourself permission to do badly, you'll be giving yourself permission to actually make progress, since you won't need to stress over whether each individual bit of progress is perfect or not.

Huge projects can be the most overwhelming.. what helps me, sometimes- if it's a paper- I'll break each project down into steps. First, researching (finding reputable sources), highlighting what I want to use, piecing together my quotes with more concrete facts, and commentary. Other kinds of projects? Just have to take it one piece at a time- and watch it build gradually.
