Sometime Back I asked myself what is Life?
I was answered by a corner of my mind. It reads
❤ "Life is Giving your Best ❤
❤ In what you Love ❤
❤ Even If it Fails ❤
❤ Don't Fear to Get Up." ❤
There's an Saying from a Chinese Military General Sun Tzu If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.
Well Most of us are Studying, And Trust me when I say that sometimes its really really tough, Sometimes it Just Goes over your head and you just wanna QUIT IT! Like I Have Had Enough of your BEEEP (CENSORED lol)
So here I came out with this crazy plan to ask you each and every one of you, Two Questions?
(Don't worry No-matter how old you are. You'll be able to answer cause I know that you have gone through phases sometime in your life. Dude its Normal!)
So I say to you, lets #FACEIT! Today here #RightNow!
Questions
>What is that Number 1 Problem YOU face when you are studying?(Mine Being Distraction)
>What is that Number 1 Fear YOU Have when the word study comes in your head?(Fear that I will end up doing nothing)
Ask yourself and when you get that RAW answer Post it out Here.
And as a Community we will face it.

My number 1 problem when trying to study is definitelyyyyyyy DISTRACTION!!! without a doubt! I can get distracted by AIR!
And my biggest fear when I think of the word study is....failure. I am always afaird that I won't absorb what I study and fail!
My number one fear is not having a high/sucessful grade, because i always aim to be the top scorer.
Fear of Not Achieving our Goals. interesting. @Harsvin Well don't worry about it, will try our best! Thanks for sharing.
You are welcome.
Distractions in today's day and age are dime by the dozen and because it is so easy to delay something as someone said "why do something today if you can postpone till tomorrow" so for me procrastination and distractions go hand in hand ,for example I am distracted by a msg on 7cups and then I procrastinate by spending hours on any thread in the forums (even the last person to post thread)or I am distracted by a book and then I procrastinate by reading as many books as I can. The second question is of fear ,fear of failure ranks high ,failure not only in the exam but in life ,which then leads to what if I am not good enough syndrome what if I will never make it what if my peers will leave me and move ahead. Is the fear caused by not studying due to distractions or are we distracted because we are scared of failure or are we scared of failure because we are easily distracted I don't know but they are closely related at least for me
>What is that Number 1 Problem YOU face when you are studying?
It depends on the study I am doing if it is a university homework or it is a study I have to do on my own.
For my own personal studies with MOOCs, I will say the No. 1 problem I face is starting to study something then never finishing it. A book, a course online, and so on. I have a lot of unfinished courses and that is something I have decided I want to change.
>What is that Number 1 Fear YOU Have when the word study comes in your head?(Fear that I will end up doing nothing)
I do not really have a fear related to studying because I really really enjoy studying! However I do have fear related to specific complex subjects. The No. 1 fear I have related to complex subjects is if I will be able to understand it and If I happen to have a diffulty in it, what do I do then?
Loss of Enthusiasm
@Flo , Thanks for sharing Even I have this problem lol I start with so much enthusiasm and then loose it completely. you have seen in my projects too lol. hahaha
@samc95xc - It is not loss of entrusiasm. Usually it fits into one of these categoties:
1. It got too hard down the road and due to not understanding a portion it was left unfinished
2. It started looking endless
3. Other things got more of priority so it got halted
4. It started scaring me
5. Depression and/or low self esteem
6. Fear that I won't be able to get good enough on it even if I try
So according to the severity of the reason, it gets harder to overcome it.
Sam, thanks for notifying me about this thread! Interesting.
For me, the thing is, there's little chance I'll EVER study for a test again. I love learning, but no more exams--YAY!! (I earned a doctoral degree in 1985.)
The only test that ever scared me badly was the Bar Examination to become a licensed lawyer! Where I live, it is a THREE-DAY EXAMINATION, a once-in-a-lifetime ordeal.
But, honestly I did not have fears about school. I loved school. Tests weren't fearful until graduate school, but I dealt with that by studying past midnight most nights, which was tiring because I had a job, too.
But other areas of life were definitely fraught with awful fear and angst, oh yeah -- like dating!!
Ask me in a month and I'll have the insider's view on what my problems and fears are. Procrastination seems to be a popular problem and I remember convincing myself that I worked better under pressure the last time I was a student...at least until the pressure really hit! I really like this video for learning how to deal with procrastination:

Dealing with the fears most of us have can be even more difficult to correct but there is a great link, right here, right under our noses that gives a broad span of answers and resources. Under Training or Self-Help.. 'College Life'.
https://www.7cups.com/listener/training.php
Right now most of us are breathing better now that college is not in it's most intense times but beware! September is right around the corner and for me, college starts in a few weeks. I think it's a wonderful idea to share our goals and resources to make college life healthier and easier to deal with!
@AutumnLeigh
YOU NAILED IT BUDDY!
wow.
Thanks for sharing your insight. And ill definitely take the hornor of asking you in a month.
However in the next week when I'll start my discussion on how to overcome these problems I want you on my team first.
Cause you are amazing.
- Procrastination , Increased Personal Freedom , Social Adjustment , Distraction , Academic Pressures , Alcohol & Drug Use , Stress.
Always happy to help, @samc95xc! Thanks for the awesome post! I think we should create a fabulous discussion based on the main points of this thread and get a slot to talk about these right before the school year starts again!
My Problem is Parents, Like they are really getting on my nerves, whatever schedule I make for my studies, they ask me to reschedule it with their preferences. Im tired of it now.
My Problem is Im really Freckle Minded. Like I may like Maths for 10 mins and do it. And then after 10 mins I like accounts then economics and so on. I can't Focus on one subject and complete it one at a time.
