Is being promoted (to higher position or salary) crucial part of every career?

@CheerySandi

That’s an interesting question! I think various people have different career goals. While most may definitely welcome a promotion, I can see how a few would be comfortable in the position they already are in.💜

It really depends on the person and the type of career. Some people want to always climb higher in their careers, to have authority, and they want to continuously be challenged at work. While there are those who may feel stressed and pressured with a promoted position, and end up working less productively/efficiently. So, promotion is not a must in careers, unless it was your initial goal to work up to a certain position.

i think it's mostly dependent on the individual person and their own goals etc. i know many people who haven't climbed up the ladder as such but have took a step to the side or just developed themsleves to be the best version they can be!

either way, as long as we're happy, the job title can come second

Hey! I really feel that it depends on YOU. If you want to get promoted and have a higher salary go for it. If you're not into that then stay where you are. I just feel it is based on your abilities and willing-ness.

@CheerySandi I would say no, not necessarily! Corporate life tends to prioritise this idea of higher up being better and bigger salaries are best but this just doesn't fit with everyone ideologies or needs. Do what makes you happy :)
