Managing Study Stress and Exam Pressure: Effective Strategies for Students

Hi everyone, I am a sophomore and have recently been feeling very stressed with the amount of homework and exam preparation. I often lose focus, feel stressed, and sometimes feel unmotivated.

I would like to open a topic for everyone to share their experiences, strategies or habits to help manage study stress, increase study efficiency and maintain mental health.

For example: how to make a study plan, relaxation techniques, group study methods, or any tools you have tried and found effective.

I hope to receive many practical and sincere shares from the community, so that we can learn and support each other to overcome study pressure healthily.

hey, nice to meet you here. Hope you get some time to relax in the middle of all studies. 🌿

It is normal to feel that way when there are lot of things to study. The practical study plans, proper relaxing methods are really important as you mentioned.

The things that helped on my study are, setting small goals to study chapter wise, studying in early morning hours and doing writing and other homework at the evening hours, writing my own notes with my fun short cuts, preparing personal quizzes for chapters instead of re-reading the same book again and again.

The things helped me relaxing are gardening on weekends, writing things down.

The group studying, we always use to split chapters and listen to it as a story from the chapter in-charges which made it quick to learn and shared responsibility.

Study tools, which creates mind maps, quizzes and flow diagram are always helpful to me.

Hi! Thank you for opening up this topic. it's something many of us can relate to, especially during exam season! Balancing study pressure with mental wellbeing is not always easy.

Something which has helped me a lot (and something which I mention a lot across forums) is micro-goals, aka small, manageable goals. For example, instead of saying, 'I'll study for 3 hours', I focus on smaller specific tasks, like, 'review 2 pages'. It makes things feel lighter and allows me to feel the progress, which helps me feel calmer and less overwhelmed.

To relax, I like to take mindful breaks to reset my focus and stop that 'mental fog' building up. My favourite thing to do is take short walks. When motivation dips, I try to remind myself that rest is put of being productive. if we don't feel well within ourselves, how can our work be our best ability?

Remember, prioritise your wellbeing! It matters. Good wellbeing will be reflected in work <3
