Just like me

We all experienced in our lives to see someone doing something wrong. It is not always intentional. Sometimes people say or do the wrong thing, despite having good intentions - they just mess it up. Sometimes people are in a rush because something happened and they need to go to a place urgently and cut in lines at checkouts in shops or do something different just to save time. We usually do not know the reason for their behaviour.
Getting all tensed up will not help, in fact it will worsen the situation. If you felt hurt dealing with someone, that is a valid feeling—whether they meant to hurt you or not, but we can try to prevent that kind of hurt, anger or frustration before it takes over and ruins our day.
Something that helps me is to remind myself that we all make mistakes, that we all do wrong things and that I might have been in a similar situation too. I like to add “just like me” to any thought I have about them. This creates a connection with the other person and builds empathy and dispels judgements I have about them. With that I can also create a more compassionate picture of the situation.

@amiablePeace77 When someone says something that may not be the most appropriate or something I'd prefer to hear, I like to remind myself that I can't control how people act, only how I respond. It's important to know that people's opinions don't matter. What matters is how you view yourself and what you do to make yourself happy!!
@fruityPond7887
Good point about reminding yourself that we cannot control other people's action or feelings but only our own!
@amiablePeace77 Thank you so much! It's so important to remember that we can't always be in control, especially those of us that are control freaks 😅😂

I follow the breath and think with compassion about what that person must be going through. It is always challenging but I am glad that I am making progress and not reacting to everything that happens to me.
@soulsings
When people do or say something bad often they are at "war" with themselves. Good that you are making progress in non reacting to it - I'm work in progress too!
@soulsings that's a different point of view!!
