One of the keys to overcoming stress, anxiety and trauma is regulating the nervous system.
So I invite you to practise a technique explained in this video called the Voo Breathing Technique
Exercise: A Simple Exercise to Ease Despair with Peter Levine, PhD the instructions for Voo breathing begins in the youtube video at 2:40
By using the breath and humming a tone. By doing this, it stimulates your vagus nerve, sending vibrations all throughout your nervous system and sends signals of safety and calming and helps us center, thus lowering stress levels.
Participation question:
What breathing techniques have you tried or practice on a regular basis?
Are you open to giving it a try?
What help have you received from this practice?
Seeking Help
Mental stress can cause us not to be able to see the good things in life and lead to excessive rumination or worries which can result in serious health problems. If you have serious, long-term problems with negative thinking and feel depressed, see your doctor or talk to a therapist if you feel they are related to any mental challenges.

@amiablePeace77 thanks ami for this thoughtful thread
What breathing techniques have you tried or practice on a regular basis? Just following the breath helps me when my mind wants to wander
Are you open to giving it a try? I think Voo breathing gets me in touch with my inner feelings of the body.
What help have you received from this practice? I feel calmer.
What breathing techniques have you tried or practice on a regular basis?
I've done the 4-6-4 (or similar) of breathe in, hold, breathe out. Typically when I'm doing a meditation.
Are you open to giving it a try?
I'm always open to trying things that could help ease my anxiety.
Breathing works, even if you just take a few deep breaths. It's better to do it outside, or in a quiet space when you're alone.
I have been trying out this Voo breathing the past couple of days - and it really does make me feel a little better in my panic mode moments. It takes the edge off of the anxiety, even if I only do it a few times. (Great in the car when I'm driving around!)
