7 Cups Birthday Stories
7 Cups is having another birthday in July! So to celebrate this wonderful occasion, how about sharing a story about your success stories with 7 Cups?
soulsings' story:
One of the best things I learned was from a mentor who gave me feedback on how to express more empathy in my responses to members. It was a watershed moment when I finally realized what my chats had been missing. I listened to what they said and practiced it in my one-to-one chats, and I saw a big difference in the kind of reviews I got and how I felt towards others.

Seeking Help
Mental stress can cause us not to be able to see the good things in life and lead to excessive rumination or worries, which can result in serious health problems. If you have serious, long-term problems with negative thinking and feeling depressed, see your doctor or talk to a therapist if they are related to any mental challenges.
Are you looking for a therapist? 7 Cups has online, certified therapists with a paid option. For more information on what happens in online therapy at 7 Cups, Read Lisa’s (a therapist and director of therapy) explanation

My best story here at cups was when I went into the chat rooms recently for the first time and was about to introduce myself and everyone already knew me, from being in the forums and they all had a good warm impression of me 🩷🤗
@Amanda84 I bet that was such a great feeling experiencing that! I love that for you, my friend! You really show so much ❤️ and support to people in forumland, it does not surprise me that people would already know of you and how beautiful and amazing you are. 😀 Awww, so happy for you.

Thank you so much , coming from you, this means alot 💙

My favorite experience here at 7 Cups is that when I first started, and even now, people are always kind and gentle. They seem to understand why I do certain things without me having to explain. I'm thankful for all the warm and caring support I've received here. I am particularly thankful for an amazingly patient mentor.
@amiablePeace77 Sooo happy for all the great supportive people you have come across on your journey here. You do such a great job here. 👏
@soulsings Those that know me know I'm a dabbler. 🤣 I do this and that, have been apart of that team or that one over here... but, ultimately, I only know how to be who I am. Desiree is always just going to be who and how she is. But with that said, it's because of this platform where I feel like I can just be me and accepted. 7 Cups has contributed to my growth in ways and has exposed me to all kinds of people from all over. I'm extremely grateful to have been part of this community for the years I have. ❤️ I may not have actually answered your question, 😆 but I'm happy to be here. 😀

And we are happy you are here also 😁💙
@Amanda84 Thank you, sweetest 👸🐷! Likewise! 😘

Goodness! The best stories are, of course, exchanges with people who sought me out to share their issues. So answering this thread would be problematic since we keep those secrets. The following examples happened over several weeks of "chatting" and I am still in touch with the first one.
Many years ago, I suggested to a disabled young woman, with baby, who lived out of her car, to make an appointment with a social worker and not to worry, the baby would not be taken away from her. Her life changed for the better in no time.
Another time, and time zone, I monitored an even younger woman over several days to get her to escape from a terrible boyfriend (and his friends) and get help from her brother who drove her to a hospital where she had to stay for a good three weeks, because of various infections. That BF found her there and took her back to his house, so we had to start all over again, with even a new stay at the hospital. The last heard from her, she lived with her mother, had found part-time work and on the way to be a social worker.
I also spoke to a woman over a long time who ended up in jail because of her violence towards her husband. She was authorized to keep talking with me from there.
And in another case, there was a murder in real time.
A lot of those stories are hair-raising and involve some understanding of the culture behind what is going on.
I hope I have not offended anyone.
